Before
Before
By Spiral BreezeEverytime he calls, my heart beat quickens.The way it used to... before.Before his words stung,Before he told me and continues to tell me what to do.
Before, when hearing his voice made me smile.
I still smile, inside.But that was before.Now we share a son.My son, not his.
The son that he did not want.The son who is... just is.
Before, before my son came,
Before he was,
Before the fights, the tears, the never ending bliss that motherhood brings.
And I.I still care.
I still love.
He is.Is here, does not care, does not love.
And perhaps before... he never really did.
