Kerry Weekes raised the glass to her lips, only to find it empty aside from three ice cubes clinking around inside. Her eyebrow jumped upward in mild bewilderment, and she extended the glass across the bar for a refill from Jerry, the white bartender with a belly like a Buddha statue and a nose like one of those faces on Mount Rushmore.

"Jerry, show me the love, baby!" she shouted, before giving him a wink.

For a hard-drinking working stiff in his forties, Jerry blushed like a schoolboy and dutifully poured into Kerry's glass. Every now and again, she imagined how he looked in his younger days. If he worked out a little, he might not be half bad-looking. He was always flirting with the college girls that sidled up to the bar on weekends. They flirted back, but Kerry remembered college. She remembered how girls in college behaved. Flash some tit and the world is your oyster, or so they thought. She knew they weren't being sincere, they just wanted to butter Jerry up for discounted drinks.

As she reflected on the deceptions of college women, Kerry tilted her head back and downed her glass pretty quick.

"Easy on the guzzle there, Kerr-Bear," Jerry advised her with a chuckle.

Kerry damn near snorted the rum out from her nostrils. She never did like his little pet name for her. In between laughter and coughing, she raised a finger at him. The name stuck after she lost twenty dollars to a claw crane filled with dolls while drunk off her ass. The only one she managed to snag was a plush Care Bear. He'd been calling her "Kerr-Bear" ever since. "Jerry, I swear to God..." She shook her head, with a stupid grin spreading across her face.

"What, you used to like it when I called you that."

"I tolerated it when you called me that."

"Made you laugh, didn't it?" He chortled and pointed, reveling in his own gotcha moment.

"Don't get your hopes up, baby. You ain't ready for stand-up anytime soon."

Jerry pshawed, lifted his shirt, and grabbed a mighty handful of his belly before making faces with his belly button. Everyone at the bar playfully booed and groaned in between laughs as Jerry spoke to his belly. "You hear that, Moe? She says I ain't ready for stand-up comedy. 'Oh, yeah? Who does she think you are, a screwball?' Screwballs, Moe. 'What's that?' Balls, as in plural. I got two of 'em. 'What about the screw part?' Well, there's a reason your mother walked into the E.R. last night all bow-legged, walking like a penguin."

Fists slammed the bar counter as folks doubled over in hysterics all around. Jerry covered his belly again and spread his arms, bathing in the attention. As corny as his jokes were, Kerry couldn't help but laugh at them along with everyone else. All together, everyone extended their drinks for refills, which Jerry gladly provided this time on the house.

Kerry wasn't one to turn down a free drink, so she got herself a refill. That one went down the hatch as quickly as the last few, and she could feel herself starting to get tipsy. Like all the rum had gone straight to the inside of her skull rather than her stomach. She could almost feel it swishing around up there, knocking her brain around like a boat in a storm. Reaching into her pocket, she took out some pocket change and started to count it, one nickel at a time. Jerry saw her, and his smile dropped all of a sudden. With a concerned look on his face, he leaned closer to her over the bar. "Hey, baby, you alright?"

"You think this is enough for the pay phone?" she asked in a slurred voice.

"Uh, yeah... Yeah, it should be enough."

"Good, 'cause I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna call my husband..."

Jerry's eyes widened a little. "Um, Kerry, that's not a good ide-"

"... And I'm gonna... I'm gonna... Fuck, you got any Aspirin or something, Jerry?"

Jerry took her glass away and patted her wrist like a concerned parent. "I'll call you a cab, sweetheart."

Kerry threw her head back and laughed. "What? Come on, I don't need a cab. I just need some dick is all." She reared her head at the guy sitting next to her. He was blond, brown-eyed. He was probably what the offspring of Brad Pitt and some Filipino girl would like. Kerry flashed him her most sultry smile, and slid her hand over his thigh. The guy smirked, probably figuring it was his lucky night. "You got some dick for me, baby?"

As soon as he gave her his answer, the two went flying through the door to the men's room. Their lips mashed against each other in a drunken frenzy while her nails clawed under his leather jacket across his back. They almost slipped on a puddle of water - at least, it was probably water - on the floor before crashing through the door to the one stall. The guy tried shutting the door behind them, only to find it was hanging off the hinges at an odd angle that made it impossible to close. He kicked it and kicked it, trying to get it to shut. Kerry growled impatiently and pulled his face back to hers, hungrily devouring his lips as he snuck his hands under her blouse and cupped her breasts roughly. She felt a sharp pain when he pulled her bra aside and twisted her nipple.

Kerry may have been drunk as a paddy wagon driver, but she was definitely conscious enough to roll her eyes at that line. Gee, haven't heard that one before.

It was admittedly starting to feel good, as he alternated from one breast to the other. She closed her eyes and bit her lip while he pressed his hips against hers and started grinding. His hands pawed at the hem of her skirt, lifting it up so the firm crotch of his jeans could ride up against her red panties. The door to the men's room squeaked as someone else came in. Kerry turned her head and locked eyes with a tall, lanky white boy who was staring over the lopsided stall door. He wore glasses and a shirt featuring a lacrosse team logo on it. She closed her eyes in frustration and hit the back of her head against the stall wall behind her. "Well, fuck..."
