Dark Moon
Katsu stood bloody and weak. He had hair that seemed devoid of any color it was so white. His eyes shown dark and void of any emotion.
The battle that ensued had lasted for days. The earth was scorched black and covered blood. The demon in front of Katsu was extremely weak and bloody but far from death.
“Give it up Arcana. If we both continue niether one of us will walk away alive.” Katsu said before sheathing his bloody katana. He began to walk away wanting to get somewhere safe and far away.
Arcana let out a weak laugh. His red eyes shown beneath his long pitch black hair. “Katsu this battle shall never end until one of us are dead.” Arcana dropped to his hand and knees coughing. He sprinkled the ground with more blood while doing so.
Katsu smiled grimly. “I know but we shall put it on hold for now.”
“We shall be lifetime enemies, Katsu the water demon.” Arcana declared before disappearing into thin air.
Katsu just grunted and kept walking. He finally collapsed against a large tree and closed his eyes to rest.
Izumi sighed while she knelt in the shrine to pray to the gods. She had long black hair with blue eyes. She wore a Kimono that was made of pink silk and had lotus flowers printed on it.
She was sending prayers to the gods to help spare her life. The villagers blamed her for the famine. She was half water demon and they believed the gods were upset at the village for allowing a demon amongst them.
Her father was a water demon that stories told were to have been irresistible beings beyond belief and were known to lead young men and maidens to their deaths. Ironically her father fell in love with the human whom was her mother.
“Miss. Izumi. Hurry and hide. They’re coming to find you.” A female servant warned frantically.
Izumi nodded and quickly left. She made her way to the surrounding forest. As she left she heard a group of men sent to kill her scream in frustration when they were unsuccessful. She held tight to the one of the only things she carried with her along with a pouch of coins.
It was a comb made of jade. It was given to her mother after she met her father. A water lily was carved into the base of it.
Once Izumi was a safe distance away she slowed to a walk. She stopped and gasped at what she saw.
