Forever

Lapiz smiled as he headed for his lover. Soon to be his mate he hoped. He'd loved him almost as soon as he'd seen him, and now loved him even more. He'd been so alone before, not really spending much time with any of his tribe. Knowing if Lazriel got worried he'd be there to check on him. Then, after meeting Shou, protecting him from his ex, life had gotten busy. Become full again. He had met so many people, and adopted a child which he'd found out was actually Shou's. A child which on his own had brought even more love into his life.

Time had quickly passed, as it always tended to do when one was happy and doing what they liked with the person they liked. It had become Valentine's day in next to no time. And he was going to remind the other just how he felt. Not that he thought Shou had forgotten, as he tended to spoil the dj shamelessly.

He chuckled as he found Shou in the kitchen, putting away the left over food from lunch. He hadn't allowed Shou to do too much as he was still recovering from the last attack from his ex. The very last, Lapiz had guaranteed that. He slipped his arms around him and enjoyed the squeak he earned as he hugged him close. Shou tilted his head back and smiling at him.

"Hello love." He murmured, smiling at him as Shou turned in his arms. His partner's arms going around his neck as he ducked his head to meet him for a kiss. Shou smiling up at him when they pulled away. And Lapiz was so glad to see that smile. The other had been so scared and hurt right after he'd been hurt.

"Hey there." Shou said with a content smile. Lapiz steadying Shou as he went up on his toes to kiss his cheek. Lapiz chuckled and picked him up, humming happily as he was hugged and kissed again. Shou was used to it by now. But Lapiz loved being held onto every time. Loved the feeling of holding him.

"Where are we going, Lapiz?" Shou asked him, giving him a wide, innocent eyed look that Lapiz knew was fake. So he laughed softly and kissed his forehead. Cradling him against his chest as he walked.

"Bedroom. What better place to start Valentine's day now that Aiko is off at Kiroa's?" He said as he put Shou down on the bed. Shou blushed and wiggled before smiling at him. Lapiz leaning in and giving him another kiss, lingering as he enjoyed the feeling. Grinning and licking Shou's cheek after. Shou making a face before giggling at him.

"You're so strange, Lapiz." He laughed. "At least your present is already in here." Shou said before bouncing up off the bed. Lapiz grabbing Shou's present while his lover had his head in the closet. They had agreed on chocolates, and Lapiz did have a box of them wrapped on the nightstand. His real present however was now in his hands. Hidden as he watched Shou blush again and sit down across from him.

"I know what we said but...Here's your present." Shou murmured, pushing a small rectangular box at Lapiz. The dragon tilted his head, looking at it curiously until he noticed Shou shifting in place and looking nervous. He smiled and kissed the other's cheek before opening it. Wondering why he was being given a pregnancy test until he saw it had a result in the little box. Freezing in place as it sank in.

"Pregnant." He breathed out, lowering the test and setting it aside. Reaching out to gently pull Shou foreward onto his lap before he waited too long and made Shou nervous all over again. Lifting his shirt to look at his stomach. Only a very faint swell giving away that there was a tiny baby growing in there.

"Our little baby." Lapiz purred. Kissing Shou until they were both breathless and Shou was clinging to his shoulders. The light blush on Shou's cheeks was kissed even as Shou spoke.

"Yeah, our own little baby. Another little one to love and spoil."

"Family..I love it. Going to have our own little one. Aiko will have a baby brother or sister." He beamed, knowing how happy Aiko would be. Watching Shou relax and smile back at him. This news just made him even more eager to give his own gift. Keeping Shou sitting right where he was as he brought up his hand with a smaller box in it.

"Here, this is your present." Lapiz said, smiling softly at Shou. Watching as his lover took the small box with a gasp. His hand shaking a little as he brought it up to open it. Lapiz watching him intently the entire time.

"I..it.." Shou swallowed and looked up at Lapiz. "Do you..really..I mean..forever?" He whispered, clutching the ring box. Lapiz nodded and stroked his hair back.

"Forever, Shou. My version of it. I want you to be my mate as well as my spouse. Will you?" Lapiz asked him, still smiling. Shou sniffled and nodded, making Lapiz kiss his cheeks. Taking the ring and putting it on Shou's finger. Falling back against the bed as Shou pushed at him and lay beside him. Clinging to his side as close as he could be with neither of them worrying over the baby.

"Best Valentine's day ever." Shou murmured, and Lapiz nodded.

"I agree. A baby and a mate on the same day. Not getting any better." He teased before carefully moving to rest above him.

"Well, maybe a bit better." Shou said, blushing and reaching up for Lapiz. Tugging gently on him. Lapiz laughed and smiled. Lowering his head to kiss his lover.

"Maybe so." He murmured, brushing his lips over Shou's again. Intent on loving Shou until neither of them were willing to move. Slow and gentle, not wanting to hurt either his love or the baby. Wearing himself and his lover out and finally curling up with him under the blankets. Savoring the shared warmth and softly whispered words as their hands moved to Shou's stomach. Planning the future for their family of four.
