Taz stroked his fiance's cheek, watching him as he slept. His mind was curiously quiet for a change, all four personalities focused on their love. He was resting now, but in just a little while they knew they'd have to wake him. Couldn't have the baby at home after all. Their fingers found the ring on the opposite hand and played with it. The ring Ritsu had surprised them with. A symbol of love and belonging they'd never expected to have.
With a fond smile they looked at the ring on Ritsu's hand where it curled next to his face on the pillow. It had taken them ages to pick that out, since none of the four could agree even what metal it should have been made out of at first. With a soft chuckle they leaned down to kiss Ritsu's cheek. Their lover, their most important treasure.

Taz had nearly paced a hole in the floor waiting for the doctor to come back to them. They were roughly aware of time being normal for for a pregnancy. Though, that hadn't lessened how pleased they'd been to see him return and say they could go see Ritsu.
The hospital was quiet as Taz sat next to Ritsu. Each of them holding a little baby boy.
"So tiny." Taz murmured, fascinated by their little babies.
"They'll get bigger in no time." Ritsu told them, sounding wistful.
"We know." Taz said, pouting a bit. Though they were rather looking forward to the process of seeing them grow up. Ritsu's smile caught their attention, his hand moving to touch his face.
"Love you." Taz heard before they were kissed. Their heart fluttered slightly as they kissed him back, wondering why things felt different. Like they were changing.

Finally home, Taz had just put their sons to bed in their crib. They had tried seperate ones earlier, but the boys had cried at being apart. Their fingers brushed over the ring on their hand. The odd feeling from before increased. Something was changing, becoming new. Taz smiled softly at the babies as their fingers closed over the ring. They'd figure it out soon. New things had kept happening to them. Opening the shop, meeting friends. Meeting Ritsu and having a family. They thought their life had never been so complete before. They kissed their babies foreheads before turning towards Ritsu. Leaving the puzzle of emotions be for now.
Silent footsteps took them to Ritsu's side. They pressed a kiss to his lips, purring when Ritsu smiled in his sleep. Taz's ears flattened a bit as he could swear he heard good bye in his head. (Tas? Shi? Zen?) He called out quietly. There was no answer by the time Ritsu opened his eyes.
"Taz...? Why are you crying?" Ritsu asked as he sat up, worry in his voice. Startled, Taz reached up, touching his cheeks. He looked at his fingertips when they came away wet.
"I was.." He blinked and froze, watching Ritsu do the same when he spoke. Taz had never used I, always acknowledging his other personalities when he spoke. Taz's pierced ear flicked as he thought, trying to sense the others. Or any holes where they had been. He looked at the children, then Ritsu. The odd feeling he'd had after that silent good bye, finally crystallized. Complete.
"They're gone...I can't hear them..." He sat down and Ritsu cuddled against his side.
"I'm sorry."
Taz considered, then shook his head.
"I'm still me, just, with a quieter mind. And able to feel and acknowledge everything." He smiled and kissed Ritsu.
"I love you." Taz murmured. His little family had finally done what nothing else had come close to. Made him whole in a way he'd never been. They'd made him complete.
