Taz's past
Taz's pierced ear flicked lazily a couple of times. He knew his lover was used to it, and that it meant he was 'listening' to whichever personality had something to say. One personality was normally in charge, the others would just contribute their own opinions about what was going on.
People got curious about it, coming into his ramen shop often enough just to meet him. He never really cared, they always came back more than once. Nasai would get irritated sometimes on his behalf however. He looked over at his sleeping lover as he thought about it.
***************************************************************
Taz had had at least one other personality for nearly as long as he could remember. As a child, his dual colored hair and cat green emerald eyes had attracted other children. To pick on him. Unable to trust any of them and terribly lonely, that was when he noticed the first one.
Encouraged by it, he kept going. He'd told his parents once, but considering their reaction he started keeping more to himself. School hadn't been much better, but at least most of the teachers had kept it from being terrible. Right up until middle school. When all the others started in on him. Nothing obvious that he could just point out.
His first two piercings on his ear were done during those years. His original personality and the first one that he'd grown up with. He'd hardly thought of it as himself, but as a friend. Considering his own thoughts, it was hard to think he could have any part of himself that would encourage him.
The second personality, or third if you counted the first, happened during the first year of high school. When neither he nor the first one, Tah, could take what the others were doing or saying anymore. When they couldn't find the words to stand up for themselves. Shi had snapped into place, laying into his attackers viciously with words. He celebrated the end of freshman year with another simple silver hoop piercing in his ear.
The fourth and final personality and voice, came about from needing balance. Needing a so called voice of reason among the others. Zen, aptly enough, creating a balance between Ta and Shi. The violence of one and the non-action of the other often clashing.
By the end of high school, he'd actually managed to make a few friends. People who weren't intimidated by his personalities or his looks. A golden haired cat that got into more trouble than he ever could. His adoptive brothers.
Komi was the one who helped him set up the shop he currently had with the money his parents had given him. Zen was of the opinion they hoped he'd 'heal' and be just himself again. Shi was always complaining that it was just them wanting their crazy child out of the way. Taz figured either way, it was a chance for them to be happy. Looking down at Ritsu and stroking his hair, he figured he'd been right for a change.
