Private island in the Pacific Ocean
Daihan Island
Present Day
On Daihan Island a huge grey mountain surrounded the island forest. In the middle of the forest lay Daihan village.
The only way to the island beach was at mountain pass near the lake, where the mountain dipped to create a passage to one of the most beautiful beaches with the bluest sea and a clean white sand untainted by any artificial means. Basically, the island was 710 km of heaven on earth.
And there lived the Alpha of the island. Kalren, godfather to Jame, Calhan and Jonah.
Kalren swore on his friends deathbed that he would raise Lohan and Karen Dary’s children and would make sure that they lived a happy life.
It was a gift that eased Kalren’s loneliness and helped him, it filled his life full of laughter that he need in his very, very old age.
He swore by his name and every other god that he would make his godsons happy, even if he had to push their thick-skulled head into happiness.
And that's my friend need some godly meddling.
Jonah book
My name was Jonah and I was a 233 year old werewolf.
No, correction, a very pissed off 233 year old werewolf.
The reason why I was so pissed off went like this:
In the morning my godfather entered the kitchen looked way too damn cheery for my own peace of mind and said to my brothers and I, “Prepare yourself after a week you well attend high school and I registered all the three of you in different schools.”
I spit my coffee and pleaded to him, “Please tell me you are joking.”
He looked at our shocked faces, his own hardening, his eyes unyielding, “Why would I be joking? The three of you are going to high school and college, and that's it.”
“We’ve already gone to high school and college,” Jame argued.
“Yes, if my memory hasn't fail me and I don't think it does, the last time you graduated high school was in the late 1700's, and don't get me started on college,” he replied dryly .
“But we don't need-” Jame argued, but was interrupted.
“Yes, you need to go to school to update your information, it's outdated and useless. Trust me, this is for your own benefit.” He said ruthlessly and made a cutting motion with his slender hand to stop Calhan from speaking farther in this subject, before going on.
“For example Jame you want to make your own security company and for that you need a degree, which can you only get from college and to get to college, guess what, you actually need a high school certification,” our godfather said rather exasperatedly and impatiently.
His green eyes began to glow with an inner fire, and I knew better than to interrupt or contradict him in his self-righteous mode.
Daihan cemetery is filled with idiots who did exactly that and I wasn’t an idiot. Or, well, I like to think so. It’s nice, sometimes, to live in denial.
From the resigned looks on my dear brothers faces I knew it was a lost case.
This was not like the other times were we could sneak out. With a tongue-in-cheek technique, my godfather seemed determined this time, and more importantly I couldn’t disappoint my godfather no matter what. He did raise me after all, and I cared for his thoughts and opinions. I couldn’t let him down.
Moreover, he was always right and I wasn’t talking about being arrogant or shortsighted.
Yep, that’s right. He’s always right and when someone makes a mistake or insists that they are right he’ll let you discover how wrong you are by yourself. I abhor that smug look on his face, when its discovered he’s right and the anyone else is wrong.
He always had a some hidden meaning in his actions, he would never do anything without reason. He makes Machiavelli look like prepubescent boy.
I looked at my godfather and it still amazed me how inhumanly beautiful my mentor was.
All supernatural beings had special features and unnatural beauty, but my godfather could make even fairies green with envy with his looks, which is definitely saying something. Fairies where perfect when it came to looks and beauty.
With his unique green eyes, that shine with inner light, old and weary. His ash and faintly blue long blond hair, his long eyelashes, lush pink lips and his hawk-shaped nose. It was enough that people would kill to have that sort of beauty.
The Alpha of the Daihan pack was a very strong wolf. The cemetery was witness to his power, as it was filled with the ashes of people who thought they could best my godfather. Idiots, the lot of them were stupid, they couldn’t feel the power that emanated from him.
It was like nothing I had ever seen before, and I have seen many- mages, vamps, demons, fairies and many more species than I could ever count, and none of them could come close to his powers.
Maybe I should fear him, but he raised us since our parents death. He could be the most caring and loving person as well as the most scariest pig-headed thick-skulled person I’ve ever met.
“Good I’m glad we have this conversation, start packing your stuff.”
But oh, not so fast I just had the most brilliant idea.
“There’s this one little detail dad. How do you expect 3 fully grown werewolf to pretend that they are 16 years old high schools teenagers?” I said that with a smug smile. Take that.
“Funny that you are the one who's asking this question, as the healer that has complete mastery over the smallest cells and bones, if I’m not mistaken,” he said with a wolfish smile, then continued, “You are able to change facial and body structure and fat to look younger with easy manipulation of you power.”
I dropped my jaw in shock. I’m so fucked over.
A Week Later
I stood in front of the great institute of knowledge, a school, with a black backpack, trimmed with silver on my right shoulder.
Oh what a joyous occasion it is...not…
Nooo… I didn’t want to go school. It smelled of unwashed bodies, and strong fruity cologne that was enough to start a chemical weapon. My head was spinning because of the overload of my sense, with the smells and sounds. With so much of it, and so far enhance, being what I was, It made me want to puke.
Hell, I wanted to go back to Daihan. It’s so quiet there, and the contrast between here and there almost drove me mad...
I started counting to ten and breathed deeply. Little by little, I could feel the jungle in my head start to lessen to a more bearable level...
God I hated school, and this was all before I even entered the building. I was at the entrance watching the students entering the school upside down, my head still between my knees.
I rose my head and tried to ignore my fellow student stares. I entered the damn school to the Administrations office to take my schedule. I went to reception and asked the lady that smelled of flowers for my schedule, and she asked me my name.
“Jonah Dary.”
I took my schedule and noticed I had advanced biology, physics, advanced math, chemistry and P.E.
Shit, my schedule was loaded with heavy stuff, but it was okay. I wanted to be doctor, and I guessed these were the things I needed to be one.
Though, why I would want to be a doctor was a question in itself. I guess having the gift of healing, I was curious, and I wanted to know more, to do my job and avoid question.
I went to the door, but the voice of the flower lady stopped me. “You forgot your ID.”
I turned back and took the card. Looking at it, I saw a picture of a redheaded boy with amber eyes and high cheekbones. I was momentarily stunned by how young I looked. I hadn’t seen myself after I transformed myself. I looked young, still with baby fat in my cheeks.
The only thing that could betray my real age was my eyes. I didn’t have the wide eyed stare most of the youth had. No, my eyes were old. Knowing.
Eyes that had seen too much.
