Only a Dream
I stand in the hallway, getting ready to open my locker when you stop to talk to me. You ask how I am and we talk quietly together. You then ask me if there’s anything you can do for me before you leave. I don’t say anything and as you turn to walk away, I sigh heavily, feeling sadness well up. You turn back towards me and ask.
“Is there?” I tremble and toy with the lock on my locker, stalling for an answer.
“There is one thing, but I don’t think you’ll give it to me...” I whisper softly, holding back tears. ‘I want you to kiss me…’ I think to myself, too afraid to voice it.
“I know I shouldn’t. But even though everyone tells me it’s not right, it still works out that way. I can’t help the way I feel.” You say, seeming to know what I wanted to ask as you reach out to lift my head up, forcing me to look at you. And as you’re about to say the words I’ve always wanted to hear you say, I wake up to my empty room. “I love you…” I whisper softly to myself, wishing that HE would say those words to me, even if it was only in a dream…
The End.
