Chapter 1: Love DOES move in mysterious ways.
“Are you really that desperate, Miku? I mean really? Love spells? You are aware that love spells are not your forte, right?” A deep voice came, interrupting whatever was happening.
It was full moon and seriously midnight. Mikhail Renard stood at the height of 5’8. His dark brown hair framing his small, angular face with sharp blue eyes which dulled with every tick of second.
“My dear Tekeo, I am past desperate now. You are my-“ but the deep voice cut in.
“I know. I know. I am your familiar. But Miku-”
“Nothing of that crap again, Tekeo” Miku frowned deeply.
The said voice sighed and slipped in front of Miku.
He had blonde hair cascading in curls with black and orange streaked bangs which covered his left eye. He had mixed features of a Brazilian and Japanese. He stood, taller than Mikhail, 6 feet and so and was hell proud of it.
“Remember one thing though, If you got yourself into trouble, don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Tekeo huffed of resignation and sat himself in front of Miku who in return smiled back.
“The Amas Veritas Spell” Miku chanted while Tekeo prayed to whomever gods who are listening in the background. Miku just rolled his eyes and continued.
Looking in the big bowl which was infront of him, Miku began the known love spell. He closed his eyes slowly and began picking ingredients.
He paused slightly and looked a little troubled. He moved his eyes towards his familiar’s way questioningly. Tekeo rolled his eyes and sighed.
“I told you! You won’t do well in this.” Pointing at the magical potions lay in front of him.
“Shut up, will you? I’ll do finely and surely it will work, really!” Miku confidently smirked while thumping on his chest jokingly.
“You don’t even know what to do first!”Tekeo exclaimed but all he got from the other was a soft mumbling voice.
“Fine! Start with the color of the eyes.” Tekeo said annoyed
“Obsidian eyes” Miku picked a bit of few rosemarys “with grey specks around the pupils.” He picked more herbs.
Tekeo cut in “Why the weird color combination?”
“So I can identify them easily” Miku snapped back, feeling shy suddenly.
“What a hopeless romantic, you are!” Tekeo snickered, patting the blushing Miku’s back.
“Tekeo!!” Miku whined, blushing tomato red.
“Very well, continue your spell.” He smiled gently giving Miku a pat in the head.
Miku nodded and continued “Their hair must be dark and soft to touch. They must be gentle and will accept me whole heartedly. They will be kind and understanding. Caring and always there for me whenever I need them and fights for what they believe is right and just.” He spreads few petals of chamomile flower and some violets.
“They must come from a good family background and they must have a good body structure and beautiful in their own way. They must have a cute smile which will capture my attention every time.”
Miku grinned and winked as Tekeo gapped at him for the detailed descriptions.
Miku added more essence and ingredients to the bowl and began stirring it while chanting in a low voice. He took the bowl and waited for something...anything to happen.
They waited and waited...........and waited.
And finally Tekeo began “umm..Miku? Maybe you got the spell wrong or simply maybe it doesn’t work” Tekeo stated trying to cheer up the devastated witch.
“you’re right Tekeo.” Miku sadly replied. He tossed the saggy Amas Veritas ingredients out of the open window. He stared as the petals and small fragments of herbs were blown and taken away by the night wind as the heavy soaked ones fell hard on the cemented pavement of the driveway.
The moon glowed to its full glory and blinded Miku for a second. He sighed and returned back in the room, not noticing how the moon glowered more brightly than ever.
Miku kicked off his shoes not bothering to change out of his clothes, he jumped to bed and immediately fell asleep. Tekeo glanced at the moon one last time and sighed also. He changed into his animal form and cuddled beside his witch partner.
“That was really a disappointment for Miku.” Tekeo thought, not wanting to but pitying the witch beside him who was sobbing in his sleep. Tekeo just cuddled closer, offering some kind of support and a small ounce of comfort.
