Disclaimer: This character belongs to me and no one else. Borrow my unnamed characters without permission, and I'll throw a boot to your head, but it won't be funny. And it'll hurt real bad.
Author's Notes: An alien is discreetly observing a 4th of July picnic and the "aliens" participating in the strange communal ritual.
An Alien View
It was the evening of the fourth day of the seventh month and all was going as planned. The explosives were set correctly and the fire was roaring and the provisions cooking nicely. Now if only the annoying people at this auspicious occasion would stop acting annoying, all would be well in the world.
Alas, that is not the case. The tiny aliens were running a-muck in the yard scaring the quadrupeds half to death, yanking their tails and just chasing them unmercifully. Poor creatures. They don't deserve such torment. Now if the bigger aliens would step in before the smaller ones got hurt and sent to a healing facility.
The plants that were served in a large bowl was actually appealing to the eye and the main digestive pouch. The leafy greens, the red circle with their seeds, the orange strings and white pieces that delivered a delicious bite. The “dressing” also was appealing to the palate. Interesting blend of liquid and native spices.
Oh my, there go the tiny aliens again. And as predicted, one of them has been injured due to constant harassment of one of the more noisier of the quadrupeds. Talk of destroying the poor creature was floating among the large aliens. Thankfully, one of the brighter of the large aliens pointed out if the tiny female adult hadn't pulled its tail repeatedly this wouldn't have happened. Much grumbling ensued between the tiny female's guardians, but they relented in light of the information given.
The other tiny aliens, if they can be called that and I doubt they are now, stayed away from the three large quadrupeds, and started after a smaller one that made an interesting sound with its throat. However, that hissing sound barely made the tiny aliens pause and think about the consequences. To me, it was more menacing than the harsh noise that the large quadrupeds made.
The variety of sounds that the smaller one made made me shudder in fear. If I were the tiny aliens, I would have run away. Mainly because of the much smaller and sharper looking fangs and claws. If I was to place a wager, it would be on the smaller one, no question.
Sure enough there was more screeching and howling cries from the tiny aliens. The small quadruped had delivered many long wounds to the tiny aliens face and arms. They were tiny but apparently more painful.
This time talk of going to the healing facility was a sure thing as all of them clamored into a large transportation unit. It was noisy and smelly as it roared to life and screeched down the path and onto the black road.
The large aliens that stayed cleaned up was left of the gathering. The explosives were packed safely away and the food placed in covered dishes and put in a cooling unit in the domicile.
Maybe the next time I am in this quadrant I will come back and observe this strange ritual again and get to see the strange explosives fired.
Thus, this is the end of my report for this quadrant.
