Echoing Name
Your name echo’s in my head
I can feel it in my mouth
Pushing to escape my lips
I start to feel my mouth forming into the shape needed
I hold my breath hoping it will stop it from coming out
I tell myself not here in front of everyone’
It’s at the tip of my tongue, almost about to scream
I force my lips shut, hold my jaw tight
Causing it to echo louder in my mind
Screaming at me to yell it out to the world
Yell out that I’m falling in love with you
I try to ignore it as long as I can
It keeps me from paying attention
I know I have to do it, but when? Where?
I wait, wait and hold it, hold it as long as the day
When I get home, safe and alone, I scream your name loud and clear
There, it’s done. I have to enjoy the silence, ‘cause soon the echo will be back again.
