Sweet Sixteen
“Happy Birthday!”
The words rang out loud in the room, the surprise pop up of the many family and friends making the two boys jump a bit. Everyone was there, their mother and father, their older brother and younger sister along with all the friends they had made in the time that they had lived in the house. They had been there for a long time, just a little over six years now. It was a long time for foster kids to be with one family, a very long time. Normally it was a mere couple months before he would be shifted to a new household… before they were separated again. That hadn’t happened this time though, from the day Orin and Alexander had adopted them, they had treated them as their own children, their precious sons.
This was a birthday to remember for Ashke and Ayumu. They were turning sixteen today and they were actually still together. They had never thought it would happen… when Alexander had gotten pregnant just weeks after the two men had adopted them, they had both thought they would be sent back to the orphanages that they had come from. Well… at least Ayumu had thought that, Ashke had always seemed to carry so much more trust and hope then he did. Ayumu really loved that about his brother.
The boys were identical twins, the only differences being physical things that they had purposely changed or that had been changed for them. Ashke’s hair was shorter, easily showing off his long lop ears that twitched whenever he was interested in something. He also wore tighter clothes that showed the small tail he sported that would wiggle whenever he got excited. Ayumu wore his hair long to hide his ears, still self conscious about them, especially the left one that had been cut by one of his former foster families, leaving a noticeable notch in the ear. He also wore looser clothes to cover up the fact that his tail had been cut off early on in his life. Ayumu was more introverted then his twin but it never seemed to bother anyone.
Everyone adored the cute, bunny boys.
“Ash, Ayu! Welcome home! We got you cake!”
Tattoi was their little sister and she was precious, just as her name described her to be. The twins couldn’t help but smile down at her and nod, their hands clasped together as they moved forward towards the throng of people. They were hugged by just about everyone, presents and money given to them in what seemed like monumental numbers. Everyone was trying to make their sixteenth birthday as sweet as possible and to tell the truth, they were very much succeeding.
The party was a monumental success… at least by sixteen year olds standards. They ate their cake and opened their presents, everyone got along and there were no fights. It was a very enjoyable night... and a very fun one too. The boys had loved when they started a food fight, the remains of the cake being used as projectiles when even the adults got in on the war. Everyone left dirty and disheveled but they were all happy. The house would need a major cleaning but that could wait… as long as the boys were happy, everyone else was too.
After showering and getting dressed in their sleep clothes, Ashke and Ayumu curled up on their bed, Ashke was sitting on his knee’s as Ayumu sat across from him, his knee’s pulled up to his chest in a protective pose that he still hadn’t grown out of. They each had one more present in their laps, their presents to each other. They had been carefully chosen, something that would be memorable… something that would be loved. After all, who knew them better then their twin?
“O… open yours first.” Ayumu murmured softly, smiling up at Ashke as he reached up to play with one of his ears, his hair pulled back as it so rarely was to expose them. “Please…”
Ashke nodded softly, smiling as he ripped the carefully folded paper off the gift. He smiled when it revealed a small photo album filled with pictures. Most of them were of them since they had been adopted, pictures when Ayumu was at therapy for his balance and when they would curl up together to take naps. There were even pictures of the great animal cracker war… how Orin and Alexander had gotten those pictures, he didn’t know but they were still adorable. It was the pictures on the very first page that hit him the deepest though, there were only three of them but they were pictures of them when they were younger… before their parents had died and they had been sent to the different orphanages… separated for so many years. Ashke could feel tears well up in his eyes as he looked at them, his hands shaking softly. “Ayu… how did you get these?”
Ayumu just smiled, leaning a bit closer before he looked up at Ashke. “Midnight found them in our old house… they were the only ones that survived the fire.” He was speaking softly, almost reverently as he traced his fingers along the precious pictures. “He cleaned them up as well as he could before he gave them to me… I thought you would like them… those were such precious times.” Everything that had been illustrated in the photo album were precious moments but both of them could agree, they would cherish those pictures the most.
Ashke carefully set the photo album aside, his eyes still glittering with tears as he pulled Ayumu forward, just about pulling him into his lap. “I love it Ayu… that… that was so much more then I ever thought…” He leaned his forehead against his twins, sighing softly as he took a deep breath. “It’s the best present I’ve ever gotten.” He murmured, his eyes closed as his hand unconsciously moved. His fingers moved along his brother’s neck before they slid up, rubbing his ears gently. “I love you, Ayumu.” He whispered, his hand sliding back to cup the back of Ayumu’s neck, his fingers moving along the sensitive skin there. His eyes opened just barely, a soft noise coming from his throat when he saw just how close their faces were to each others.
They had resisted their urges for six years... they knew they were too young, it would be too soon but now… Ashke just couldn’t resist. He was right there, Ayumu looked so happy, a content smile on his features as he leaned against Ashke. He looked like everything was perfect and really… it was, it was as perfect as it had ever gotten for them. Ashke just couldn’t stop himself, his hand tightening just a bit on the back of Ayumu’s neck as he leaned forward those couple of inches, his lips pressing firmly against his twins in a clumsy kiss.
Ayumu was a little shocked at first but he didn’t fight it in anyway. This was Ashke… the person he loved the most in the world. Their first kiss was clearly inexperienced and clumsy but it was deep and meaningful and… sweet. It was everything that they had ever wanted. Ayumu didn’t even notice his present fall from his lap and clatter to the floor as Ashke leaned him back against the bed. He really didn’t care either, this was so much better. Their first kiss may have been a bit awkward but all of that awkwardness disappeared, making their second and third kiss and every kiss after that only sweet, gentle kisses flavored with birthday cake and love. Ayumu couldn’t help but smile into the embrace as he thought, yes, they had been so right. This was definitely a birthday to remember.
It was the sweetest sixteen they could have ever been given.

AN: This is a little… surprise for Natalanisha, I’ve been supposed to write something for her for a few days and I’ve just been so bleh *shakes head*
Anyway, this is just a cute little story about mine and hers set of twins getting a bit closer on their sixteenth birthday.
[icon=Natalanisha] owns Orin, Ashke, and Midnight (also Xue but he’s only mentioned as their older brother)
[icon=Anestshia] owns Ayumu and Alexander
Tattoi is owned by both of us *giggles* She is the sister of all the boys and the daughter of Orin and Alexander.
YES, Ashke and Ayumu have lop ears, they are so cute. When I talk about a lop eared boy, I’m talking about something like this:
yaoi.y-gallery.net/view/636505/
This IS Ayumu, his brother looks just like him only with shorter hair and he has a bit more weight on him because Ayumu has been abused. But! They are still adorable! Just looky and it and fav it and love Kristal for it!
Also, this is NOT a collab, me and Nat did NOT rp this, I only wrote a story using the characters.
Thank you so much for reading and if you enjoy it, please leave a review! They’re what I love for! (*giggles* not really but they make me really, really happy and sometimes if they make me happy enough, you’ll get a gift for it. *wiggles and looks cute*)
