Disclaimer: althougth Earth and the city depicted in this story are real that is the only things that are real. Anything else, characters etc, that has a resemblence to real things or things from other fictional stories is purely coincidental. And now that that is over with enjoy the story :D
Prologue
Shared history
There was only one planet in the beginning. Thals it was called and it was larger than all planets that now exist in the universe. It is said in many legends that Monnanon, the Goddess of creation and light created this planet for her children to live upon. Her children were Kitar the goddess of fire, Lyke god of water, Peitra, Goddess of earth, Throom god of air, Saras god of electricity and Calibrun goddess of Metal. All six lived in harmony and enriched the planet by combining their powers. There was unending light and warmth on the planet from their mother and all was good. In time the children were permitted to create peoples who embodied their elements and personalities. Kitar chose to give her people the aspect of felines as she herself looked. Red hair and green eyes became a trait of her people. Lykes people were amphibious and had slightly fishy features like himself. The people of the earth element had hairless bodies and a multitude of skin, eye and hair colours. Throoms people looked similar but had long feathery wings protruding from their back. Metal and electricity chose to embody lizards. Their people had the shared characteristics of yellow and red eyes, were cold to the touch although their skin was not scaly. Many had large batlike wings like their gods. Metals people were slightly more snakelike and indeed the Goddess herself had a snakes tail instead of legs.
All the peoples lived happily on the planet in the places that most suited their natural element. However it wasn't to last. Durthaleck, the brother of Monnanon and the god of darkness brought his own life into the world. A dark race of shape shifting creatures who fed off the magic of others. This races arrival co coincided with Monnanon's Dragon elfin race appearing on the planet and the shape shifters chose to take on their appearance and spread lies in their name.
It was not long before the races who had before married and had children with people of the other races were now fighting. The children of Monnanon met with their mother to decide action. They decided to choose a person from each race who would be their avatars on Thals and lead the people back to prosperity.
The six mortals were given the power of the gods and became figure heads to their people. Many of the six were children who had mixed blood and were therefore a good diplomat in both races. Durthaleck grew mad at his plan being thwarted and led an all out war against the the avatars.
The massive clash of magicks caused the planet of Thals to rip apart. Not a single member of the first races was left alive. The combination of the avatars magic had indeed beaten Durthaleck back but had undid the making of the planet.
After a period of mourning the children decided to set up planets where they could recreate their lost races in isolation. Monnanon told them that one day their races would have the means to meet again and in that time their avatars would be needed again. Most of the children accepted this knowing that it was a destiny they could not escape. In fear of losing her race again Pietra decided that this time her race would not know their magical heritage and would stay out of the affairs of her siblings races.
And it was that the races grew and flourished and some began to travel to other planets inhabited by the races made by the other gods. And Peitras small little blue planet continued to float in isolation convinced that ,despite fleeting visits from others and travelling outside their own planet, they were completely alone in the universe.
