It was still dark when she roused herself from the confines of sheets and a warm comforter, indicating just how early in the morning it was. It was nothing she could handle, for she was so used to such a schedule. Slipping out of her bed, she went to her closet, pulling out a simple black long-sleeved shirt and red flannel shorts. She made her way to the kitchen on light feet that barely made a sound, deciding on her way what she would make for today’s breakfast. She opened the fridge, wincing in pain as she was met with the bright light. Pulling out a loaf of bread, some eggs, and butter, her simple breakfast was decided.

Seated at the table, she was at mid-bite when she heard the approaching footsteps and a small but genuine smile came to her face. She glanced upwards without moving her head, staying silent to chew at her bite of toast. She watched as the other walked around the small island table. A blush came upon her face as such warm arms encircled her shoulders from behind and a face buried itself in the crook of her neck.

“Morning…” she heard him say the muffled greeting

“Hey” she replied simply, as she resumed eating her toast

“Mind if I have a bite?” he asked, smirking against her skin. She smirked in returned and looked over her shoulder as he bit into the offered toast. She shoved the remaining piece in her mouth and wiped her hands together to rid herself of crumbs. “Let go, I need to get ready” she said, though didn’t really mean it. Yes, she had classes that she needed to prepare for, but…

“No can do” he replied cockily, running his hand through his fairly long dark hair

“And why is that?” she smirked, turning herself slightly to look into those emerald eyes she adored so much. Her eyes widened in shock momentarily as she was lifted from her seat for a few seconds. She was then was placed back on his lap. Bastard took her seat, but she wasn’t going to complain about the switch. Her arms draped loosely around his neck as she turned herself to face him, her legs dangling on either side of him.

He chuckled in amusement but otherwise kept his silence. His arms wrapped around her slender waist and he pulled the other towards him, bringing their bodies flush together. Their gazes met and his eyelids lowered, a glint of passion hidden within his emerald-colored eyes. Everything seemed to come to a standstill, not a sound came to their ears other than the combined beating of their hearts

“Hey Alex…” he said, daring not to break eye-contact “You know I love you, right…?” he whispered, the words only for her to hear.

She bit into her now trembling lips. She didn’t even know how long she had been waiting to hear those few but amazing words. She felt the familiar stinging in her closed eyes and nodded “I love you too…” she whispered in reply. There was nothing but truth in her words. This was the man she loved more than anything in the world. Without him, she wouldn’t be sure what she would do. She lived for him and she was more than determined to remain by his side until the end of their days. Nothing could make her feel any other way.

“Then let me go…” her gray eyes widened in shock and she jerked upright in bed with a sharp gasp and his last words echoed through her head. Her racing heart was loud against her ears and she slapped her hands against them in a vain attempt to shut off the noise.

Once she calmed down, her legs were drawn upwards and she folded her arms on her knees. She laid her head against them and unconsciously stroked at her tousled hair. She did nothing but sit there in that position for God knows how long until she realized that she had to attend class.

It was a dream… went through her mind as she stood motionless under the spray of the showerhead.

It was a dream… went through her mind as she dressed herself in tight, ripped jeans, a loose graphic tee and high tops.

It was a dream… went through her mind as she messed with her hair to her liking and applied eyeliner.

It was a dream… went through her mind she left the house and walked to school.

She sighed sorrowfully, reaching into her messenger bag and pulling out her iPod. She placed the ear buds into her ears and increased the volume, fully bent on blocking out the world. Getting bored with the song she was currently listening to, she skipped through a number of songs and pressed back a few times—a habit of hers—and stuffed her hands back in her pocket as the beginning of a light ballad came to her ears.

Notice me, take my hand
Why are we strangers when
Our love is strong
Why carry on without me
Everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, it's haunting me
I guess I need you, baby…

Her walking slowed as everything seemed to come to a blur, the lyrics of the song causing her hurting heart to drop in her chest. The stinging came to her eyes again and her hands began to tremble…

I make believe that you are here
It's the only way I see clear
What have I done
You seem to move on easy
And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby…

Her breath caught in her throat and before she knew it…

She ran…

She heard several people yell and curse at her, but unfortunately she was a little too busy trying not to break down to pay much attention to them. She weaved through several people, actually passing her university running into the local park. If she was going to cry, she’ll be damned if she would do it in front of an audience.

I may have made it rain
Please forgive me
My weakness caused you pain
And this song's my sorry…
At night I pray
That soon your face will fade away…

She grunted in pain as she came in striking contact with something warm and hard. She jerked her head up and looked at her obstacle and her eyes widened as she looked into the familiar looking emerald-colored eyes…

The young man looked back down at her, eyebrows wrinkled in confusion. “Hey, you okay…?” he asked, his baritone voice laced in concern.

Something inside of her snapped

The tears started to flow freely down her flushed face. She leaned forward and clung to the stranger, gripping onto the back of his sweater as if it was the only thing that would possibly keep her sane. Her loud, heart-wrenching sobs were muffled by his chest and her warm tears stained at his clothes. She cried harder as he wrapped his arms around her as support.

After two long years, she finally mourned the death of the man she truly loved…

And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby…

Just something that plagued me and kept me up ‘til about 5 in the morning, hehe.

Song: Britney Spears “Everytime”. Probably the only song that really stir me emotionally…

Un-beta’d. But hopefully it’s not too bad ^_^;;

Hope you enjoyed. Reviews will be greatly appreciated
