I'm Love Sick
Chapter 1
“Okay you’re all set, right?” asked the nurse
“Yep,” I answered grabbing my belongings before looking up to see her
“Okay follow me,”
I finally looked up to see her. She was beautiful. She looked around 22 years of age. Her hair was cut into a bob...short in the back and the front sides hung down the sides of her face, almost framing her jaw line. Her skin looked amazing, clear and tan, completely flawless. She was tall and thin, but had very nice curves in all right place.
“Excuse me? Are you okay?” she asked me. I had been starring at her...not moving at all.
“Huh? Oh yes I’m fine, sorry.” I responded following her out of the exam room
As I followed her to the reception desk, I eyed her. She walked with a perfect but cute sway. As my eyes lingered down her slender body, they finally rested on her ass. I noticed that her scrubs fit nice and tight on her ass, giving me a nice view.
My rainbow key charm clearly visible and I’m wearing my rainbow pride shirt. She must know I’m gay. I wonder if she thinks I’m looking at her? I thought still following her to the front desk.
“Okay, so the doctor wants to see you back in two or three days to check up on the burn.” She said turning to look at me when we reached the front desk.
Okay thanks...umm....” I hesitated
“I’m Nurse Burke but you can call me Kasey. I hope to see you again soon.” She said smiling widely, winking, then turning and walking back down the hall. I watched until she disappeared.
I turn to the receptionist and arranged for my appointment.
~Two Days Later~
“Hello again Mandy”
“Hello Kasey.
“How’s the burn,” she asked taking my hand and examining it.
“Uh, still very tender, like all around it,” I explained
“It’s to be expected. A nice blister has formed over it. That’s good. How’d you say this happened again?” she asked still holding my hand.
“Being a dumbass and playing with fire. I’ve burnt myself enough times you’d think I’d learn.”
“Yeah, maybe just a little.” She said finally letting my hand go, “The doctor will be in in a min...Oh I like you key charm”
I watched her pick up my keychain and finger the rainbow key charm. “Thanks”
She placed my keychain back on top of my bag and walked out of the room shutting the door behind her.
‘She likes my key charm? She likes my rainbow key charm? Is she gay? No, she couldn’t be. There is NO way she’s gay. She did wink at me the other day, maybe she....NO NO NO, what are you thinking. She’s probably straight as needle. I’m just thinking about this way to mu...’ I was thinking to myself before the doctor knocked on the door.
“Hello again Mandy, how’s the burn?” the doctor said as he walked in and closed the door behind him... but not before Kasey had time to squeeze in.
“Sorry Doctor Jamison, I was wondering if I could sit in on this exam. I would like to know a little bit more about burns.” she said lying. I could tell.
“Sure Nurse Burke” he responded
She grabbed an extra chair from the room next door and came in shutting the door. She sat behind the doctor, but slightly to the side to have a view...of me! As the doctor examined the burn, I tried to focus on what he was saying, and pointing to, but I kept feeling like someone was looking at me. Every time I looked up she was looking at me. I brushed it off, still not thinking anything of it.
“Okay Mandy,” the doctor finally said,”It looks to be healing pretty good and fast for a third degree burn. I don’t think you’ll have to come in again for that, but continue to watch out for infection.”
“Thanks Doctor,” I said as he stood up and walked out of the room, Kasey stayed.
“So it sounds like your all set. Guess this means I won’t be seeing you again for awhile huh?” she said coming over right next to me and leaned against the exam table, “Can I ask you a question,” she asked nervously
“Sure,” I said kind of enjoying the closeness of our arms. I could have sworn I could feet the warmth from her body. I watched as she inched her pinkie closer and closer to mine.
“I uh, I need a favor. I’m moving into my own apartment this weekend, and my only really good friend is working all weekend. I was wondering if you’re not busy this weekend if you’d like to help, maybe get lunch too.
“You only have one good friend, why?”
“A lot of friends kind of took off after I told them I was gay.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. I wish I could say I know the feeling, but when I told my friends I was gay, they loved me even more. I don’t know why, but they do. Well now you got one new friend, and that new friend would love to help,” I said
“Thanks,” she responded smiling ear to ear.
I walked out of the room in front of her. I could feel her close behind me though all the way through the building. When we reached the reception desk, she grabbed a piece of paper and scribbled her address. I walked out of the building into the warm spring air, smiling ALMOST as widely as she just had.
