The Night of Feasts

Aw~ I feel like I've rushed this chapter. It's about 5am and I couldn't sleep with these plots, characters and stories running around in my head.

-shrug-

I might come back and add more to this chapter or I'll just edit it? Don't want to ruin what I've already finished but I feel like I need someone to beta these stuff I'm writing up. -huff- So much to explain and I don't want to ruin the story before the end of the chapter so I guess this will be it.

EDIT: I've decided to take advantage of the AFF forum for dicussion on Dark Moon. I'll be adding the link to my discussion thread into each chapter before you start reading as well as another link in my author's profile. All response to reviews will be posted there. And here's the link! http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=13775

Read, review and enjoy!

Ezrah sighed as he looked beyond the scenic view of his balcony. Ah, the over grown vegetation that has taken a carnivore crave for flesh. Ezrah was more bored than he usually is to be staring unblinking at those plants just outside of the estate walls. He watched as servants bustled to and from like bees gathering pollen to make honey. This is getting frustrating and sitting there watching the servants move about their work didn't help to ease his boredom.

"Ezrah."

It was softly spoken and Ezrah turned to face a mirror image of himself. Lightly shaking his head, Ezrah looked at his younger brother as he stood from where he was seated.

"Asreyh. What are you up to?"

Asreyh shrugged and sat down in the chair by the fire place. "Not much really. Just came to let you know that tonight will be the night of the dark moon."

"I know." It wasn't something for him to be informed about. All creatures of their kind knew what kind of night it will be. This occurance comes once every twenty-seven to twenty-nine days.

"The Day of Feasts. Makes it sound like a festivity." Asreyh said, grabbing a bottle on the table, opening and pouring some of it into two cups. Bringing one up towards his brother Ezrah called to him.

"Asreyh. We know what kind of night it will be. I don't want to participate in any of the activities after wards even though I will in the end."

The younger brother waited until Ezrah took his cup and raised it to his lips before he took his own and drank from it. Drawing the cup back, Asreyh licked his lips and looked out to the balcony.

"I know." This was getting depressing and Asreyh took this chance to change the subject. "What were you looking at beyond the balcony?"

"The scenic view."

Laughing at his older brother's response Asreyh set his cup down. "Well, if you call the over grown man eating plants as well as the over growth of nature's vegetation a scenic view, then you really are thinking way too much. Were you also watching the servants as well?"

"Ah."

The servants were also like them and yet not like the creatures they were at the same time. And only the Lords and their household were allowed to participate in The Night of Feasts. Servants were not allowed that luxury.

"Never give servants a chance to gain power." Their father was strict with this. Though the vampire race has come to habitat most of the inhabitable land, the werewolves had taken to the unlivable land infested of animals and beasts of all kind.

"The night is still early," Asreyh said downing the rest of the blood in his cup. "I suggest that you drink now so as to keep you from...over excitement when the feast starts."

Ezrah could only look at his cup and drink the contents of it before looking towards his younger brother.

"I hope that tonight I can get away as early as possible."

Asreyh smiled and stood from where he sat. "I know. I also hope to leave early and hopefully we won't catch father's eye before our planned escape."
