Alone Time

“Where are you going?” Raiden asked, looking down at Umi as the smaller man packed their children up in their car seats. It wasn’t often that the smaller man went off on his own. Well, he pretty much never went off on his own now that they were all together. So… this was strange for him and he didn’t understand it.

“I’m just going out.” Umi said softly, stretching up on his tiptoes to kiss Raiden softly before picking the two car seats up by there handles. “You and Tetsu need some alone time and I think it’s high time you get it.” He said, adjusting the seats slightly as he walked towards the door. “Go cuddle your twin, tell him you love him… all that mushy stuff. He’s been feeling a minor depression since he got pregnant and he needs to know he’s loved. I’ve told him, now it’s your turn.”

Raiden looked a little dumbfounded but just nodded, smiling softly as he helped Umi out the door. “I will as soon as he wakes up.” He said, settling one of the car seats in the back of the car before standing. “He’s napping right now.”

“Just go cuddle with him Rai, it doesn’t matter if he’s awake or asleep, he knows you’re there.” Umi tapped the werefox on the nose before he slipped into the drivers seat, waving before backing out of the drive way.

Raiden waited just long enough for Umi’s car to disappear down the street before he slipped back into the house, closing the door silently behind himself. He left it unlocked, not knowing if Umi had taken his house keys or not. It wasn’t like it really mattered anyway, their driveway was guarded by a rather large gate, if anyone got passed that, they deserved to get in. He hesitated for a few moments before he made his way up the steps, walking into their room and looking down at his brother. It was so… warming to see that bump on his stomach after everything that had happened to them. He knew they were both worried because of the loss of their first child but Tetsuya was doing so well now. He was three and half months into his nine month pregnancy and he was holding up fairly well. He just got tired easily.

“Tetsuya.” Raiden murmured softly, being very careful as he climbed onto the bed behind the slumbering man. He didn’t want to wake him, he knew he needed the sleep badly but… on the other hand, he wanted to wake him up just to kiss him… what a conundrum. He propped himself up behind the other man, one of his hands sliding forward to curl protectively over his rounded stomach as he nuzzled against him. That smell… it could only be described as Tetsuya, just smelled so good. Umi was right… he had really missed this. Yes, all of their smells combined was also very appealing but… just their smells brought him a deep contentment he knew couldn’t be replaced by anything.

“Raiden…” Tetsuya whispered, looking up at him with soft, tired eyes. “Is something wrong?” He had been having a rather pleasant dream… not that this wasn’t pleasant but normally when he was woken up there was something wrong and that just wasn’t good.

“No, no, nothings wrong, little brother.” Raiden said, smiling as he shifted his younger twin to his back, leaning over him. He was very careful not to lean against his stomach, holding all of his weight above him. “Umi left to give us alone time, I didn’t mean to wake you up.”

“Did he now?” Tetsuya asked, yawning slightly as he lifted his hands to tangle them in Raiden’s hair as the other man slid his hand over his sensitive stomach once again. “Isn’t that so nice of him?” He couldn’t help but feel safe and protected with the way Raiden was leaning over him, it was just amazing that something so simple could make him feel this good.

“I love you, Tetsuya.”

Ohhh, there it was. Those words that made his stomach feel like it had butterflies in it and his heart warm. They were very beautiful words. “I love you too, Raiden.” Tetsuya whispered, pulling the other man down just slightly to connect their lips is a sweet, intimate kiss. Yes… this was what he needed. He needed to feel loved and cared for. Even if he knew he was, even if he knew that both Umi and Raiden loved him with all their hearts, he just needed to hear it sometime. When Raiden pulled up, Tetsuya clung to him, a soft whine coming from his throat. “Please Rai… just keep kissing me.” He sounded almost desperate, he was desperate. He needed these kisses, he needed these touches.

“Of course, Tetsu.” Raiden said softly, leaning down to kiss the other man again. He stayed right where he was, his hand smoothing over the rounded bump on Tetsuya’s stomach as he kissed him for long moments, just luxuriating in the feeling of being so close to his twin.

Anyone who said absence made the heart fonder might have been right but that didn’t mean that he wanted any absence. They all needed to be together. No matter what, their family would stay together. Even if they needed time like this, alone time to connect deeply with each other, they would never push one another away.

Alone time may be golden time but nothing could even compete with being curled up all together on one bed. Alone time could never compete with being together.
