What they stand for
What They Stand For
It had started with a clash of what one would call the opposites, one of Holy and of course one of Dark. Supposedly those were the favored powers of the gods and goddesses who watched in a realm all their own. Holy and Dark or how most know them as light and darkness, the elements couldn’t stand against the pure intention of these two powers. To cast Holy was to supposedly shine the light on all, to cast Dark was to supposedly take the light away and shun those into darkness. The two were forever meant to destroy one another in this world, where one grows and builds using board by board the other is the termites that brings it back to its starting period, it’s been back and forth like that for centuries. It had come to the point were priests and priestesses were pitted against their magic wielding opposites in an attempt to destroy the other out rightly, even the fates had destined for the two powers not to mix by making it nature’s law for the two never to be able to reproduce by one another. It had been tested by few who wished to control the powers of both sides but every time, let it be rape or willingly the fetus would die within minutes of making while possibly killing the female carrying it at the same time. In the times that have come as evolution took place and the magic within the lands spun their roots and vines on who they thought should rule them, Holy now stood with humans as the Dark now stood with the very demons Holy had tried to wipe out.
Clashes of powers happened all over and all the time how in depth those that had the power could go was decided on the body and it’s mind, no one but the person knew if they would come out of a fight alive, damaged or not at all. Now there were ways of measuring that strength but even that can go only so far when it came to measuring an adult’s full power. The acceptance on the amount of violence she knew she’d unleash flooded plum colored eyes as they bore down on the smaller being that dared yell at the obviously stronger of the two, “Holy Witchling you better just get out of my way before I rip your head off.” Her lip jerked showing an impressively sharp but not overly big canine tooth; it was enough for the holy being to know the female in front of her was not only a demon but a dark user on top of that. “All I asked was why you were on these grounds dark sister.” Her voice stayed firm as she was taught too many years ago by the elders, her body was angled in a way that made defending easy as well as escaping. Protocol swam within her mind on how to act and be conversant with the likes of someone as was the dark magic user in front of her, what made the demon dangerous wasn’t power or that her body was a weapon it was the twin boys delicately hidden behind layers of fabric that was wrapped around her body. Children allow it human’s, demon’s or animal’s made a situation delicate and sides easily shifted against one, that being said it also made the protector more prone to aggressiveness and down right non-negotiable to do anything until the children had gotten away. Unless they were stupid that is, humans tended to be very stupid at times.
“We’ll be leaving right now if you back off, I’d never even consider touching this dirt if these brats stayed away from the border like they had been told.” Plum eyes slowly rimmed in ruby as the dark demon wearily watched the holy human keep her defense stance, it didn’t say ‘come at me’ like most of them do but it was more of a ‘I wont turn from you, but I wont back down if you start it’ who was she to look a gifted horse in the mouth? Stupid, incredibly stupid and naive...but gifted. Looking the girl over she looked like all the other girls from this part of the region, sunflower blonde hair with smoldering red orange eyes almost the color of ripe pumpkins in autumn her difference was the necklace she wore of a silver hourglass with black grains slowly going up filling the top then going back down. The chain and pendant of the necklace was sterling silver, she could smell it from the distance she stood, and the pendant was about the size of a rose’s petal while the black grains smelled of the crushed bones of a dragon. The way she dressed would have fooled anyone that she wasn’t holy if it wasn’t for that necklace, it being given secretly to a person at the completion of one’s inner self the black crushed dragon bone’s stating she was a natural at what she was or they’d be silver and or gold. She wore garden pants that had holes, patches and dirt here and there the biggest give away was the packets of seeds sticking out the back pockets and a messy tank top that also had dirt smeared on the front. What kind of holy girl was this? She barely looked of age!
“Then leave! I have no other altercations with you demon.” The violence slowly leveled off within the demon as her eyes went back to their normal plum color, there was no need to fight with a farm girl, holy holder or not she was a farm girl much lower the a demon Lady status. “As I have no desire to quarrel with you, stupid girl.” Her voice came out in a lower pitch as if keeping the human girl in knowledge who had the superiority within this match, with that the demon patted the blue haired heads of the boys who ran in front of the demon, needing to by pass the human before they could cross back the way they had come. Following their movements with her body the human let out a sigh of relief she hadn’t realized she’d been holding once the demon and her boys were out of sight. Too close for comfort, shaking her head she tilted her head to stare at the growing dark clouds. “Ahh another storm...and me without a rain jacket...oh just how wonderful THIS day turned out to be.” Giving one last look to the raven haired plum eyed demon woman who had been dressed like a royal the girl began to sprint back to the village and safely to her home, hoping for hot meat and a warm bed tonight. Not seeing one of the boys had come back and watched her leave with a smile on his demon twisted face.
