Prologue
A lone figure walks down a narrow country lane. It stands out, decked in bright
colors, against the unified colors of the harvest-ready wheatfields. It turns slightly to see
where it has been, and its eyes flash an unmistakably golden color that puts the fields to
shame. As if sensing that something is off, the figure speeds up, heading quickly for the
next town. An impossibly large pack rests upon its back, and sways from side to side as its
owner begins to jog.
There is a rustle from the field to the left, and the figure on the road increases its
pace more at the sound. Suddenly, another figure, equally contrasting against the fields for
how dark its coloring is, leaps at the first figure. The bright one begins to run up the hill
that it had been climbing before, and the dark one pursues them. The pair of them quickly
disappears over the top of the hill as a light rain begins to fall on the land.
The only sign left of the passing of these two people is a faint trail of bent wheat on
the left side of the road. The world is still once more.

This is just a prologue, people, and no, the whole thing is not going to be in the present tense! Leave a review, give a rating! Let me know how you feel about it... and no, it's not going to get lighter, so you may as well be forewarned.
