Silent Song: Prologue
Adrenaline. That searing burning hot sensation beneath the skin, making your heart pound and your skin become slick with sweat. It’s consuming, unstoppable, making your body throb with the vibration of it, that sweet seductive rush. Lithium was no different, she was consumed by it, her body rocking with it. Hips swayed to the beat, the wild bass, and blue eyes shut as thoughts ceased to exist. A voice so hypnotic and laced with that addictive rush of blood sang from her lips which pressed close to the microphone before her without touching. The crowd at her feet was infected by it, bodies moving rapidly together and limbs tangled together so tightly that it was nearly impossible to tell where one ended and the other started as they dipped and swayed, slid and ground. It was a plague caused by the very adrenaline that continued to consume and devour Lithium.
It was with a slow seductive chord of the guitar and her voice that the infectious music seemed to finally cease though it was much to the displeasure of the club occupants. Lithium’s mouth slid into a sly smirk as the chants for more of the addictive adrenaline that was the music began. The guitarists laughed with good humor behind and beside her as she declined the desire for another encore. It was a consequence to the adrenaline, all the energy and drive to sing with exhaustion quick to follow. It was what made the powerful rush so poisonous for her.Friendly waves bid her goodnight, the other band members non-expectant for her to hang around as they packed away their own equipment. They knew from nearly a year of having the raven-haired female as their fronting singer that as soon as their own music stopped and the DJ began, she would be gone with the wind. To them, she was their own Cinderella. Except, as they continued to find, their Cinderella’s shoes always remained firmly on her feet.As expected, only a few moments passed before Lithium was nowhere to be found on the brightly-lit stage nor the darkened backstage. Instead, she had already slipped through a larger door in the dark side marked with the bright red glow of an EXIT sign above it and into an awaiting alley. As soon as the door shut, all sound seemed to cease, causing the ears to practically ring from the sudden loss. Lithium sighed softly in the silence of the alley, grateful from the practically soundproofed building. The night air was cool, inviting to her sweat slick skin, the pale flesh sparkling with glittered lotion in the lone light of a dim light bulb above the door. Lithium took the moment to enjoy the soothe of the chill rapidly cooling the flush from her pale cheeks before she began retreating from the safety the dim light provided against the dark shadow of the alley. Her blue eyes bore into the surround of the filthy, dark alley carefully, making sure no one was to be found. Comforted with the knowledge that she was alone, Lithium continued on into the dark toward a rotten dumpster and stopped beside it. She reached down behind the steel rotten beast and withdrew a ratty and tattered backpack. Her blue eyes carefully scrutinized the surrounding alley with each crevice of filth and deep shadow that it held. Satisfied to once again find no one to be around, Lithium opened the ratty bag and pulled free a huge black hoodie that she folded over her arm as she quickly unstrapped the black corset she wore tightly over the top of the multi-layered and shredded dress with surprising efficiency. Now only in the dress, she slid on the hoodie, maneuvering her arms within it and carefully slid the dress off, the jacket itself large enough to conceal her underwear beneath. Next came a pair of skinny jeans covered in holes from the backpack that slid easily onto her legs. The corset and dress were then stowed into the bag before Lithium reached up and removed the long black wig from her head and revealing the white and pink hair beneath secured with a multitude of bobby pins. The wig stowed quickly, the newly exposed blond zipped the bag up and slung it onto her shoulder, slender fingers worked to remove several bobby pins to free at least a small portion of her hair. It was only with one more cautious glance before Lilac left the alley behind for another night.Another story/prologue finished and posted. Woo. This story proves challenging in outlining as well. Jebus. Anyways, R&R please! I love hearing feedback and whatnot. Who doesn't?
