Marc Background
“Marc! Now!” The voice was clear as day, screaming at him to kill the feral creature in front of him. It was his job! His orders! “Marc!”
“No!” Marc yelled back, his hand shaking as he held the gun in it, pointed at the man in front of him. He couldn’t believe it, they had sent him to hunt him, to kill him, how could they do this to him?! “I can’t do it!” He yelled back, looking over at his blond hair partner with wide eyes. “I can’t kill him!”
“Why the hell not!?” Trevor yelled back, his eyes widening when the feral shape shifter lunged at Marc, the red head barely moving in time to stop himself from getting his chest ripped open. “God damn it Marc! It’s just a feral, kill it!”
“I can’t!” Marc yelled again, stumbling when the man hit him on the shoulder, cutting deep into his flesh. “Damn it!” He yelled loudly, lunging forward and taking the feral shape shifter in front of him down. “I can’t Trev!” He grunted out as he struggled to keep the creatures hands pinned above its head. “He’s my mate!”
Trevor’s breath caught at the words, his hand clenching on the gun he was holding. “Marc…” He murmured but not loud enough for him to hear. “Fuck…why would they do this to him?” He murmured under his breath before running towards his partner. “Move Marc! Get out of here!”He yelled, wanting the red head to disappear, he didn’t want to do it…he hated to do it but someone had to kill him and he didn’t want Marc to see when it happened.
Marc just ignored him, tears starting to stream down his cheeks as he struggled to hold his feral mate still under him. “Please…please baby, come back to me.” He whispered, grunting when the man under him got a hand free and scratched harshly along his chest, drawing even more blood. Marc caught the hand before it could do anymore damage, pinning it roughly above the other mans head again. “Snap out of it!” He yelled, the tears trailing down his cheeks making his voice tight. “Please…”
“Marc.” Trevor murmured, placing his hand on the others shoulder. The one moment of distraction cost them. Trevor’s eyes widened when Marc suddenly moved, the creature under throwing him across the park…straight into a tree. “Marc!” He yelled, grunting when the shape shifted hit him too, sending him sprawling onto the ground before taking off after his injured partner again. It took him a few moments before he could breathe again, pushing himself up to see the feral almost on top of the seemingly unconscious red head. “Marc! You have no choice!”
A shot rang out through the park.
Trevor watched, breath baited as the feral shape shifter stumbled to a stop before falling to the ground in a heap. He pushed himself up off the ground after that, stumbling to the fallen creature even as Marc crawled towards him.
Marc was crying as he rolled the man over, his hands running through the other shape shifters sweat soaked hair. “Baby…” He whispered, his head falling to lay on the others chest. “I loved you…god I loved you so much!” He cried out, giving the other man one last kiss before Trevor was pulling him away from the body. “My mate…I killed my mate…” He gasped out, feeling his heart clench in his chest as an anguished cry ripped from his throat.
Trevor just pulled him away, trying to soothe the pain he knew his partner and best friend was feeling. He knew that type of pain as well…and would never wish it on another person…he knew that Marc would never be the same after this.
Just moments after the two hunters left, shadows spread through the park before a man with dark hair and bright eyes appeared kneeling beside the shape shifters body. “Little one.” He whispered, reaching down and touching his face. “I’m so sorry; you’re not dead yet, are you?” He murmured, his hand going to the others neck. “Just in so much pain…your lover, he just couldn’t kill you.” The man said, vampire fangs glinting in the moonlight. “Let me put you out of your misery.” He whispered, watching the rest of the live fade from the feral’s eyes with one flick of his hand.

“He…he was what?” Marc asked, looking over at the coroner. He was gaunt, his body slowly shutting down from the death of his mate. He didn’t feel like he had a reason to live now…his mate was gone and now…now he was told this. “He was pregnant?” He asked, fresh tears streaming down his face as he placed his hands on his dead mates stomach. “The baby we worked so hard for…I killed it too?” He asked, his face paling even more. How horrible of a person could he be…to do something like this?
It wasn’t until years later that Marc learned he hadn’t dealt the death blow to his lover. It was a mysterious, bright eyed vampire…that he called a friend.
He still blamed himself, however…he always would.

AN: Another background.
Not much to say about this one, it’s just showing why Marc doesn’t believe he deserves love.
Marc, Marc’s mate, Trevor, Ben (mysterious vampire), and the coroner (all the chars) are mine.
Well, I hope you guys like it and it explains some things!
