Sightless
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Little seer in the cage.” The man hidden in the shadows chuckled at his own cleverness…or what he thought was cleverness, in using his own little rendition of ‘mirror, mirror on the wall’ to address the one settled behind the bars. He looked down into the cage, his long, black hair obscuring his features as he looked at the boy sitting in the cage. “Won’t you tell me my future?” He asked, his voice portraying a sweetness that he didn’t actually possess.
Daichi looked up, his dark blue eyes dull and empty like they had been for years. Even when he looked into the future, a spark never came back into his eyes. He was dead inside…he had been for years upon years, ever since he had been locked up in this cage as a four year old child. This man had stolen his childhood and he didn’t even know what he had lost. It was now almost 12 years later and Daichi was tired…he was so tired of being the personal toy to a man who had too much money and time on his hands. “No.” He said, his voice as dead and flat as his eyes were.
“Excuse me?” The man asked, actually sounding a bit shocked. The boy had NEVER told him out right no, he had resisted but he had never told him no. It was just inconceivable that he would! “Repeat yourself, child.” He said, his voice coming out in an almost growl. “You damned well better give me the right answer this time!” He murmured dangerously, looking down at Daichi with angry eyes.
Daichi didn’t even seem to respond to the other mans words, his eyes never moving to look at him. He just sat there, flatly repeating his answer. “No.” He said again, not even hesitating before he spoke. He didn’t want to do this mans dirty work anymore, he was just a child, he shouldn’t have to be used as a weapon of war! He only reacted when he heard his cage open, a big hand dragging him out and throwing him to the ground. He looked up, his eyes a little more alive then before as his ‘master’ looked down at him, a frightening glint in his eyes.
“You sniveling little brat, you don’t tell me no!” He yelled, picking Daichi up just to throw him back against the ground again, causing the teens head to impact the floor with a resounding thud. “Guards!” He cried out again, watching as the two burly men grabbed one of Daichi’s arms each, hoisting him up off the floor and holding him there. Another guard handed the master a small poker, bright red from being held in the fire. “Now, will you tell me my future, slave?”
Daichi watched him with wide eyes, his breath catching in his throat as he trembled slightly. It took a few more moments before he could respond, making sure to keep his head totally still. He could feel the heat of the poker hovering so close to his eye already and knew that one wrong movement could cost him his sight. He wasn’t backing down though, this was all he could do for himself and he HAD to do it. “No.” He said again, his breath catching in his throat when he felt the heat come even closer.
The man that called himself Daichi’s master almost growled in anger, his entire body jerking as he seethed in anger. “You fucking brat!” He yelled out, not noticing how his hand had moved forward until it went just too far. He felt an insane sensation of twisted pleasure when he pressed the poker forward, drawing an anguished scream from the boy when the heated instrument sank into his eye. He pulled it out, cutting a deep line from the corner of the boy’s eye more then half way to his temple. “Are you ready to talk yet?” He asked, moving the poker so that it rested near the other eye.
Daichi’s eyes were watering, the salty tears stinging the damaged eye as the vision slowly faded from it, leaving half of his world black. “N…no…” He said, stuttering a bit when he saw the look of pure anger on the other mans face.
It was the last thing he ever saw.
He could feel blood seeping from his eyes when he was dropped to the ground, seeing nothing even as they were wide open. He could hear movement around him, unfamiliar clanks and shuffling sounding around the room, he cried out when his black and white striped hair was suddenly yanked on hard, his face tilted up.
The master was looking at his face, a demented grin on his lips. He gave the boy a quick, deceivingly gentle kiss before pulling back and letting him fall to the ground. “If you won’t see for me...” He murmured, looking down at him with a frown. “You won’t see anything.” He walked towards the door at that, leaving Daichi lying on the ground, his eyes slowly turning a blind, milky white. “He’s of no use to us anymore.” He murmured, looking back at the guards in the room.
Daichi shuddered at the words, a soft whine coming from his throat when he was pulled up again, held in the air by the guards who had held him still while he was…blinded. He could barely breathe, the searing pain in his eyes making him cry and hurt himself even more. His breath stopped at the last words, another whimpering sound coming from his throat.
“Dispose of him.”
Daichi knew it now…he was dead.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Daichi was carried out of the dingy basement, shivering when cold air hit his mostly nude form. The master kept him dressed as minimalisticly as possible. Apparently, it was harder to play his ‘games’ if he had to take a bunch of clothes off his little slave. He grunted when he hit the ground, a frightened whine coming from his throat.
“Sorry kid.” One of the guards murmured, pulling the gun he was carrying out of his belt and holding it to the young seers head. “We really did like you.” He murmured, a soft click signaling the release of safety on the gun before the trigger was pulled, a loud bang echoing through the dark ally.
Daichi felt his tears pour faster down his cheeks when the felt the unmistakable feeling of a gun pressed against his head. “Please…” He murmured, looking up even if he couldn’t ‘see’ the other man, he could see him in his own way, his aura clear as day to him. “Please don’t do this…” He flinched when the gun went off, his body falling to the ground. It was only moments later that he dared to take a breath, his hand shaking as it went to his head where the gun had been settled. “Wh…what happened?” He whispered, sitting up in the eerily silent ally. He jumped when the clearly recognizable noise of a body falling to the ground echoed in the ally.
“Shhh, kid, it’s ok, we’ve got you now.”
Daichi couldn’t help but to shy away from the noise, a fearful whimper coming from his throat as he scrambled back, another pained noise escaping his throat when his already abused back hit the hard brick. It was an explosion of noise after that, loud crashing noises sounding when the doors were busted down, the unmistakable cry of ‘Freeze! Police!’ calming Daichi in ways that he never thought possible. He jerked back when he was touched again though, fresh tears coursing down his cheeks until the voice from before started murmuring to him soothingly.
“Shhh kid.” Trevor whispered, carefully bundling the frightened teen into a blanket before pulling him up into his arms. “It’s ok now, we’ve got you.” He murmured, picking Daichi up and carrying him to the car waiting for them. “We’ll make it better, just you wait and see. I promise I’ll make it better.”
Trevor never broke a promise.
Daichi had been saved.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Years later, Daichi had fully acclimated to the loss of his sight, he reveled in it, actually. He liked seeing the world his way, the bright shining aura’s amusing and intriguing him all at the same time. They were all so different from each other, as unique as fingerprints. He loved his life…he couldn’t help but think there might be something missing but…he loved his life just as it was anyway. He hummed softly when he smelled something…interesting. He veered to the side, carefully stepping inside the small café and walking up to the counter. The man on the other side had such a…pure aura. It was bright white, just tarnished on the edges with painful black as his own was. It couldn’t have been his fault though; no one could stay that pure while doing something bad themselves.
“Hi! My name’s Toki, what can I get for you?”
Unbeknownst to Daichi, he had just found the missing part of his life.
AN: Ok, this is a background on my character Daichi, this is showing everyone how he lost his sight. I know it’s horrible but it’s what happened to him. Just, please read to the end! It gets better!
Ok, Daichi is 16 years old here, i don't know if that counts as Shouta but! I did allude to things happening when he was younger so that is why i put in Shouta, there is no actual sex with a child in this story.
I’m trying to do a little background like this for all my characters so you can all get to know them better. Mostly, it will just be the defining moment in their lives and yes, it will probably be something bad that happened to them.
These are more rp chars with Nat, yes; I create a lot of my chars to play with her then flesh them out.
Daichi, evil master, guards, and Trevor are mine.
Toki is Nat’s.
Well, I don’t really know what else to say about this…I hope you guys like it!
Thanks for reading and don’t forget to feed the author!
(just to be clear, this is NOT a collab, me and Nat did NOT rp this together, I just wrote a story about the characters)
