Chapter 1

Raven flew silently, the velvety darkness of his black wings merging perfectly with the night sky above him. His silver hair and skin was as brilliant as the stars. An effervescent aura seeming to surround him as the white moonlight dancing across his angular features. His eyes, a piercing hue of yellow-gold, quickly spotted the tiny house he had been searching for. Raven wondered what stories Cody would regale him with this evening. The thought immediately brought a small smile to his lips.

Despite the fact that Raven was a demon he had been no match for the fifteen-year-old boy. Since the moment he first saw Cody face to face he had denounced his sinister ways. At times he felt weak, pathetic even, that something as insignificant as a mere boy had managed to change his ways. But the second he was able to look into those sweet eyes again, he knew he was actually stronger than ever before. He had first visited the orphan the night he had lost his parents. Raven had had his eye on the boy for some time up until then, and after Cody's parents had died in a fatal car accident he had seized his opportunity.

The pretty boy with the innocent blue-grey eyes and tousled brown hair would be his. He would be heart-broken and searching for any form of comfort after his parents' deaths. And that's when Raven would take him.

However, what he had been fantasizing about for months previously had not gone according to plan.

Raven remembered silently drifting into the boy's bedroom window that night. He was strong, but lithe, and easily fit through the opening. He heard the boy crying into his pillow, childishly clutching a teddy bear in his small arms. Now was the time to take action. The boy was vulnerable and perfectly ripe for seduction. Raven slowly approached his bed before laying a graceful hand gently on the orphan's shoulder.

The boy immediately looked up in alarm. His eyes going wide at the sight of the demon, but he did not move. Raven hovered a bit closer, his shining gold eyes locked on the boy's grey ones. He ran his thin fingers through the cropped brown hair.

Then the boy did something that would change Raven's life forever.

He leaned into his touch, clinging feebly onto the demon's hand. Suddenly his large eyes again filled with tears, a sob forming in his throat.

"M-my parents are dead..." he mewled, crying into Raven's soft, warm hand.

Without a second thought, the tall demon gathered the boy into his arms, and held him closely. The boy continued to weep into his chest, clutching feebly at Raven's bare waist.

Raven couldn't deny the fact that he was getting aroused at the young boy's touch, but something else had taken over his body, piercing his heart like a shard of glass and breaking a hard facade that had surrounded the demon his entire existence.

Raven felt empathy. A warm tenderness spread throughout his limbs as he buried his face into the boy's hair. It felt good to be needed. He lightly inhaled the boy's scent, and to his alarm the divine smell sent another surge of arousal to his groin. He was only covered in the thinnest of fabrics, a sash that crossed his chest then wrapped deftly around his waist, hips and upper thighs. Though thankfully it was black, Raven doubted it would be enough to cover his stirrings, and the boy was moving closer than before, finding comfort in the warm chest and strong arms.

Only five minutes ago Raven would have allowed his lustful needs to take over. That had been the plan, after all, and the boy was practically asking for it. But he couldn't let that happen anymore. This boy NEEDED him. Raven had had countless trysts in his lifetime, but never had anyone needed him before. The boy's innocent expression, and, though silent, heartfelt gratitude, had stabbed Raven in the heart, and he doubted it was a wound he would ever recover from.

Gently he laid the boy down in his bed and tucked him in. He stroked the soft hair, enjoying it's smooth texture. The boy cuddled down against his pillow, comforted, and smiling a sweet sleepy smile.

"What's your name, love?" Raven whispered.

"Cody..." the boy mumbled, before drifting off into sleep.

*sigh* I should have known I couldn't pull off a one-shot D: I do hope to only keep it around a few chapters though. However, if people enjoy these characters I might be willing to do something a bit more ambitious (: Please watch for updates, as I am finally finishing with school and back in the writing mood (;

Thanks for reading~
