War of the Change

this is NOT the story but a slice of a chapter far off -

Birth of Change and their powers -


F----- looked away as all eyes fell on her, “Why’s she so special? Is it because of those big wings?” M----- kept the bite out of her voice knowing what S---- was but had always been jealous that she kept it to herself and so did no good.


“No, it’s what is on those wings. Anyone can pierce themselves but to be honored with sacred rings shows that you have honed into your element or elements depending how far you trained the number of rings can mean many things but once placed on the rings do not come off unless ripped off.” S---- opened two books and slid them across the desk showing different ringed and multiple tailed wolves by the dozens, “Do you know how everyone started? Where the powers came from and how each race was made from the beginning.”


H--- stepped up anger still blazing in her eyes, “Yea we are gifted with our stones at our birthright or when we hit of age. They are supposed to be gifts from the Unicorns and Pegasus’s.”


S---- shook her head tapping the books with a pointed nail, “No that’s not how it starts at all that’s not even close to the beginning.”


The wolves gathered to look at the books in aw, the pages were a dull yellow showing their age, “Way before then the Pegasus walked the Empires free to come and go as they choose. Their protectors were the dragons, griffons, mermaids, and phoenixes that travel by their side along with all the other animals that roamed the empires. Canines, Felines, Birds, Mammals, Reptiles, Insects and the Aquatics respected each other and rarely did anyone ever fight until man was made. Man relished the animals making them their gods but it wasn’t enough for some, they sought out the most rare and powerful of them all. At first they took the Pegasus’s wings who offered them to man as a gift to leave the land in the care of the creatures that came before them, yet man being greedy demanded more from their gods that if they could give up their wings so easily they must have more powerful items to help man. Pegasus and Unicorns alike refused and it began a slaughter, all creatures were attacked even the lands themselves, the two beings still refused and instead went into hiding. After that man became angry with their refusal of power and turned to the other mystical creatures that protected the Pegasus and Unicorns and began Dragon slaying, Griffon wrangling, Mermaid skinning and Phoenix trapping. It went on till few were left while the limited Pegasus stayed in hiding to keep their full use of power the unicorns came out and told the humans that they will be gifted with the power of self. At first they didn’t understand until a jewel in some form or shape appeared on at first only females before being told they need to learn who to protect before the males would receive their gift of power. It took a few centuries but man finally did it, they placed the female ahead and thus began getting ‘gifted’ with powerful jewels. Yet that wasn’t all, man became jealous of one another and began war, harming the lands and their creatures once more so a few of the last dragons gave up the power to transform into man gifting it to many of the animals as a few of the Pegasus gave up their horns to give them power. That’s how we came to be as we are today.” S----- caught the gaze of each pair of shocked eyes.

Clearing his throat one of the males spoke up, “So we are never human first but animal?”


S---- nodded, “Correct Ritter.” Looking around she waited for more questions which eagerly came.


“So horses are actually the descendants of Unicorns who are actually descendants of Pegasus?” M---- cocked her head in thought staring confused at the black she wolf.


“Yes M---, horses lost their power to speak and transform like the domestic dog, cat and bird. But if you pay close enough attention they will communicate with you. We still get our power today for they still gift us with it though for humans their power is being reduced for certain High Priestesses and Monarchs kill strong females so they can’t be over powered.” Gasps could be heard once again as the other male moved forward.


“What does all this have to do with wanting them all here?” A---- rubbed his nose trying to hide his displeasure of not getting to talk to S------ before she threw the two of them in here with the others.


S---- glared slightly before turning back to the females who were agreeing, “Vampires are the new humans and the creatures that are supposed to keep the lands safe are becoming fewer with each heavy attack. We are gifted to go beyond of that of our powers with training and none of you have the skills to do it alone. I’m giving you a once in a lifetime chance to become the leader you are capable and take down the vampires instead of just holding them off. It means we’ll travel far and wide to not get caught up in anything but it will be worth it, T------, F---- and L---- I know you are pregnant but your cubs will be nothing if a raid crashes through and destroys everyone in your pack. Now, what are your decisions, regardless I will be leaving on another training course for a while.” S---- turned toward the window waiting their answers, the answers that would mean either a huge fighting chance for the Empires or their slaughtering fall.

I figure this will give you a better idea of the story than any summary I could think up.
