The Others
“It’s impossible,”
They scoff, they scorn
Thinking that I am not worn
That they have reason to cry
And that I wouldn’t see why
But as I lie awake at night
Giggling with pure delight
Others fight through tears
Writhing and crying for years
Why can’t the others grasp
What is so pristine
What is so perfect
Every day is a pleasure
A light, a refreshment
Something to treasure
Their days bleed together
Melting, flowing
Until years have passed
They, all the while, unknowing
They need to see,
For everything to be clear
Defined and visible
At it’s most sincere
And at that moment
They would see
Pure, plain, perfect
Ecstasy
They scoff, they scorn
Thinking that I am not worn
That they have reason to cry
And that I wouldn’t see why
But as I lie awake at night
Giggling with pure delight
Others fight through tears
Writhing and crying for years
Why can’t the others grasp
What is so pristine
What is so perfect
Every day is a pleasure
A light, a refreshment
Something to treasure
Their days bleed together
Melting, flowing
Until years have passed
They, all the while, unknowing
They need to see,
For everything to be clear
Defined and visible
At it’s most sincere
And at that moment
They would see
Pure, plain, perfect
Ecstasy
