Chapter 1

“Sorcerers! We’re under attack again!” The call made a white haired man stand up from where he sat watching the Sakura Blossoms turning silver like the moon.
“Colonel Adonis!” the white haired man spun to face a red-haired man that stood in the door way.
Amber eyes, framed by long ashen hair, sparkled in laughter and happiness as he observed the way the redhead stood. “Yes Kion?”
Kion snorted and his jade green eyes rolled as he glanced towards the window the colonel had been observing flowers through only moments before. His long body was barely clothed in a pair of skin-tight leather pants and a full length cloak that barely clung to his shoulders and revealed his chest. He smirked slightly at the Colonel in amusement and then shook his head.
“Let’s go,” the redhead spoke so quietly he was practically silent.
With a nod from the Colonel, Kion spun about, his long red locks flaring as he did so, and walked towards a wall that looked as though it was bathed in fresh blood. He walked up to the barrier and disappeared through it. Adonis smiled and followed him, passing through the odd colored field. A small noise came form him as he stepped out into the frigid Ice air. The white haired man couldn’t help the way his eyes became hard chinks making his eyes resemble the stone they were colored like even more as he heard the newest updates from the battle against the sorcerers.
‘The sorcerers are no longer capturing! They are killing; three Shadow Squad and a Lighting are already down!’
With a small growl deep in his throat Kion took a deep breath and allowed his body to start changing. His body suddenly spasmed slightly as his skin took on a pink hue and then turned a deep red. A deep howl echoed throughout the Blood Squad compound when the redhead’s skin split and hundreds upon hundreds of blood red scales erupted up through the soft flesh forcing it wider open. His long dark hair shrank back up into his skull as the scales spread across his entire body. Adonis watched as the others skull began to morph as well. The ridges wear his eyebrows rested began to slither up as the black streaks of hair disappeared. His jaws began to elongate and stretch outwards, forming a fierce muzzle.
His mostly flat molars grew into points sharp enough to score right through flesh with just a graze. His already abnormal incisors lengthened into long fangs, the brutal tips just barely showing as the poked out slightly from under the deep colored lips of his muzzle. Another reverberating cry filled the frigid air as several scales split apart and spikes of bone burst from Kion’s back. The bone bent and curved in what appeared to be random pieces to create the sturdy main support for the wings. Reds and yellows danced out from under the scales as well, sliding up the white matter, pooling and congealing to create the muscles and tissues that would be necessary to allow Kion to fly.
The ruby sections began to multiply, bunching as they did so before spraying out across the flesh to bathe the wings in the deep colored scales. Kion doubled over as his chest began to expand, making his top heavy and making his back bow. His arms, neck, and legs began to widen and lengthen until they were the size of trees. His body growing until it was large enough to look correctly proportionate to his legs, though the former redhead’s wings still looked huge compared to his body. Adonis smiled at him and approached the humungous beast.
‘My dragon, shall we go to battle?’ the ashen haired man said silently through a mental link he had with his other half.
The dragon dropped down so that his front legs were bent allowing the white haired man to gain somewhere to balance as he got on the beast. His head stretched forward, the long neck pulled taught so Adonis could grip the spikes running along his back and drag himself onto the beast.
The white haired man chuckled and shook his head slightly. ‘We need to get you harnessed so I can stay on you as we fly.’ At the dragon’s nod to his rider Adonis spoke aloud so the Fitters could hear him. “We need to get to the battle, Hurry.”
Two men dressed in long red cloaks came running out, each carried several leather straps. Each went on one side of Kion and set the straps down on the stone ground. They grabbed a strap with a large loop at one end each and held it out in front of one of the dragon’s huge feet. Kion lifted his right foot and the loop slipped over the claws and slid up his leg to rest almost at his shoulder. He replaced his foot on the floor and lifted his left so the man on the other side could do the same. When that foot was resettled on the stone both men through their strap over the dragon, they slipped down between two ridges on the way across the beast’s back. The ends of those ropes were attached to the others securely. Several more ropes were attached in a similar manner quickly and then the two men departed.
Adonis walked up to Kion and used the straps to swing himself up the enormous creature so that he could straddle the others back between the two ridges where the ropes rested. ‘Ready?’ the amber eyed man asked in Kion’s head. He waited for a nod from the ruby dragon. “Blood Squad, fly!”
Kion raised his mighty wings and beat them down, the wind caught under the large appendages, forcing them upwards. As soon as the two were in the air they were surrounded by close to half a hundred more dragons of the same color.
“So, colonel, we headed out into the battle yet?” a brown haired man called from where he sat astride his own huge blood hue beast.
Adonis nodded at the man, “yes Leo, we are.”
The brown haired man nodded and turned back to face the up coming battle head on. All the dragons and their riders streaked through the air, the updates of the multiple deaths blaring in their minds. As they neared the battle, all the Blood Squad dragons opened their mouths, bellowing out their arrival. Adonis’ amber eyes quickly spotted a sorcerer attempting to kill another Lightning Squad dragon. His lip reading came in handy making it possible to understand the words the magician spoke.
“We’ve seen this one before, so now we shred his core.” A deep purple glow began to engulf the magician’s hands.
Adonis was instantly glad that it was a young sorcerer and thus had to build his power while Adonis could summon his with a single thought and be at full power. “That spell is dumb, so it will turn him only numb.”
With a quick flick of his wrist a dark blue orb flew away from his hand and knocked into the other sorcerer’s gathered magic, tinting it slightly blue. The wizard released his attack, and it hit its target turning the rider’s right arm completely numb.
Adonis’ eyes flicked down for a split second to glare at the red dragon when he heard the harsh tones of Kion’s chuckle through their link.
A hiss came from the invader drawing Adonis’ attention, “You dare attack me after you turned your back on me and all the rest of us? We are your kind, not those idiots! You don’t deserve your power if you’re going to use it against us.”
Adonis looked at him blankly and Kion’s enormous head spun about to face the other magic wielder. His mighty maw opened, revealing the dozens of razor sharp teeth, and the dragon let loose with a bone rattling roar. The sorcerer fell through the frigid Ice air for a few moments as he fought to gather his concentration and scattered magic.
He soon caught himself and as he came back up to the same elevation Kion and Adonis were sitting at he began to speak. “Look at this traitor parading around, now he will be bound.”
Adonis chuckled and laughed as he felt the weak purple essence surround his body in rope like tendrils. “I am starting to tire, so I will surround you in fire.”
The other sorcerer’s eyes widened as the blue flickers of flame started to encase him, his mind rushing to come up with an enchantment to use against Adonis before he died. The ashen haired man smirked evilly as his other half trumpeted and streaked through the frosty cold away from the wizard as he began shrieking in pain. The blue flames fell through the air as it devoured the sorcerer’s body and released the magic it held. The lack of magic allowed the form to fall to the ground and soon all that was left was the fire.
‘Kion let’s drive them out!’ Adonis’ smooth tenor tones rang through the link he, and the beast he was astride, had.
The large ruby colored dragon raised his mighty head once more, his muzzle parting as he let loose with a howl. His cry was answered by the call of the other dragons in the battle. Kion hissed when he didn’t hear the returning shriek from Kira, the dragon was dead. He looked about and spotted a large blood colored form drifting, the wings still holding some air and slowing the descent. His jade eyes became entirely black as he focused as clear as he could, his pupils growing to take over the entire eye to allow maximum light for vision. He could just see a smaller form falling as well, this one close to the dragon’s body as it fell.
‘Chaiaiyoku!’ Kion screeched in his head not thinking about the fact his rider could hear.
The former redhead pulled his wings close to his body, allowing his body to begin to streak like an arrow as he fell through the air attempting to catch the other rider. A smile formed on Adonis’ lips as he saw a form, too dark to be a normal shadow, come darting in to the battle, golden glinting showed that it was a Shadow Squad dragon.
‘Don’t worry Kion, Chaiaiyoku is safe now, Akogi and Chimeitsu are coming to save him.’ Kion’s wings flew out catch the air once more when he heard his rider’s comment.
Jade colored eyes watched with keen interest until the other rider had been caught by the Shadow Squad members. Kion let out a small sigh and looked about, catching sight of one sorcerer that seemed to be smirking at the falling dragon. The smirk made his blood boil and his pupils zoomed out, away from the man, allowing him to see normally again as he released a harsh snarl.
The brown haired man from before barked out a laugh as he and his dragon flew up next to Adonis and Kion so he could talk to the ashen haired rider. “So, Chimeitsu getting to see his first battle today?”
“Yes Leo, he is…he’s saving his rider’s lover. Kira was just killed and Chaiaiyoku was caught by Akogi and Chimeitsu.” Adonis explained as he kept his eyes on the sorcerer that had killed his lieutenant.
The brown haired man’s smile became a snarl as he heard the news that a blood Squad dragon had died, now he would be out for revenge too, ‘Akai,’ Leo spoke softly to his dragon smiling when he saw the upturned lips and the single red eye looking at him. ‘Let’s go get him.’
The dragon’s eye ridge wiggled and his eye lid flashed close for a split second as the red beast beat his wings firmly and rose higher so that the moonlight would work as a blocker behind him.
‘The one good thing about the Ice, the moon is as bright as the sun, just silver.’ Akai mused as they gained altitude swiftly.
‘Yeah, good point.’ Leo replied before he leaned forward to help with the descent as the large red dragon flipped in mid air and began to speed towards the sorcerer that killed Kira.
The dragon’s huge wings were pulled tight to his body to allow him to drop even faster, losing altitude as his humongous form fell. The sorcerer’s eyes widened as he realized that there was a dragon on attack vector for him. Akai saw the magician raise a hand thinking that he could beat them with his magic.
“Cant you feel this soft breeze, good then you’ll freeze.” A pale red started to surround the wizard’s hand.
‘Leo, fall to the side, I’m going to dodge and use the endless torment on him.’ The dragon’s rider allowed his body to slide to the side as soon as the beast told him to.
‘Are you sure the endless torment is a good plan? You haven’t used it on anything other then the one sorcerer we caught last time…are you sure you can handle it?’ Leo asked through the link, worried about his other half.
‘I’ll be fine Leo, stop fretting about me.’ The dragon felt his rider hanging loosely in the leather straps.
He dove in, his right side facing the sorcerer as the man powered up, the dragon allowed him to watch him fly up, his eyes centering on the large sapphire colored orb. He blinked and looked at it closely. When he realized it was a stone and the dragon couldn’t see him he started to laugh, but only the first bark of it came out. The rest faltered in his throat as he heard a scream echoing in his head. He tried to blink but found that every muscle in his body was frozen stiff in fright of the scream; he could hear the way it faded and raised as though having problems holding the pitches to make the noise.
“Chaiaiyoku! Are you safe…please tell me you’re safe!” the screech rang in his mind.
The sorcerer raised his hands up to his skull, his fingers gripping at the flesh through the thick hair covering his head. A sound was finally able to escape his constricted throat, the strangled scream bubbling up and out of him in response to the echoing one. A deep breath through his nose relaxed his throat enough for him to be able to gasp and whimper as he curled up, the magic platform not deconstructing because of the concentration to stay alive from the magician.
“What…what is that…what are you doing to me?” The sorcerer gasped as he continued to stare at the deep blue stone.
“Can’t you see it?” Leo snarled at the invader. “Can’t you make out the image of the dragon you just murdered? Or have you committed so many sins that you can’t make out one from the other?”
The sorcerer took another deep breath and then released a scream that almost overpowered the one ringing in his skull before he suddenly fell backwards and passed out. His body fell through the frigid air as his power gave out, the blue stone that acted as the dragon’s eye swiveled as it watched the descent of the other. Leo chuckled as he watched the sorcerer fall through the air and hit the ice covered lake below. He could see a slight spray of blood as the body impacted the frozen water. Leo looked back up to see only the dragons and their riders.
As confusion started to eclipse his face he heard the newest update. “The sorcerer’s are gone!”
