Kai ran his hands through Aiden's brown hair and watched it shine in the bright sun. He kissed the boy's temple and stroked his arm.

The tension in Kai's shoulders dispersed and a wave of relaxation washed over him. “But I hurt you. And I never meant to.” Kai stared up at the sky and watched as a cloud moved through the blue sky and towards the sun.

“I know you didn't but things happen. Besides, if it wasn't for that, we probably wouldn't even be together now.”

Kai turned and looked into Aiden's eyes. It was amazing how forgiving this boy could be. That's why Kai loved him so much. “You're the best,” he whispered.
