Tramps Like Us
Must confess to the sweetest little thing
That nothing can satisfy my need
My desire spreads around me, it sings
Love escapes, my open wounds left to bleed
Eyes brilliant icy blue, stares at me
Understanding resonates as we smile
We are one in the same eager to please
Others look at us their words fierce and bile
My home for now is my only reprieve
From the looks on their wretched stone faces
His eyes hold no grudge even when deceived
He turns to tell me to keep up with his pace
Maybe I shouldn’t make such a big fuss
Even though love has no room for tramps like us
That nothing can satisfy my need
My desire spreads around me, it sings
Love escapes, my open wounds left to bleed
Eyes brilliant icy blue, stares at me
Understanding resonates as we smile
We are one in the same eager to please
Others look at us their words fierce and bile
My home for now is my only reprieve
From the looks on their wretched stone faces
His eyes hold no grudge even when deceived
He turns to tell me to keep up with his pace
Maybe I shouldn’t make such a big fuss
Even though love has no room for tramps like us
