Negasis- Chapter 3
Rini sat in her garden, alone. Something she spent a lot of time doing when she was able. She was doing it today though to see if she was right about something. Over the passing months she felt the closeness of something or one watching her. Even when she was the only one in the entire castle, something was following her.
Rini: Creature, I know you’re hiding out here. Save us both the trouble of me finding you the hard way.
Looking up, she noticed a branch move in a tree. She stood up as a large gust of wind blew over the garden. Out of all the blowing leaves and dust a man’s figure came walking through it. If it wasn’t for the fact that he had large white wings, she would have been amused to find a man stalking her so much.
Rini: Are you going to stand there and be so rude as to not introduce yourself?
Raylin: My name isn’t that important.
Rini: How do I address my visitor then? You do have a lot of nerve following me, and then being so rude when you’re found. The least you owe me is a name.
Rini and the angel stood there watching each other for what seemed like forever. Finally, Rini smiled and turned her back to the man.
Rini: And, you do have a lot of guts to bring yourself into my garden. Angel or not, I think I’ll have to show you why I’m ruler here. So daring…
Raylin: Raylin…
Rini: What was that?
Raylin: I wont repeat myself for the likes of you, demon.
Rini let out a long loud laugh. She couldn’t believe this. This angel had been following her and had the nerve to be smug and rude in her own home. She faced the angel, head on. With a gesture almost that of snapping her fingers she set off a blaze of black purple fire under the angel’s feet.
Rini: Next time, you will speak to me like a gentleman.
Before she could turn to leave the angel to burn she was met by his face in hers. His all white eyes showed almost no emotion, but she could tell he wasn’t happy with her fireworks. He grabbed her wrist with one hand, the other on the hilt of his sword.
Raylin: Next time, if there is one, you will learn to hold your tongue.
Having never been threatened or touched by a man, this enraged Rini. Her eyes flashed the same red they did that one night long ago. A dark blue aura grew around her. She growled deep in her throat at the angel. He stood up to this, holding her wrist tighter. A bright white light grew around him, clashing with the dark aura. Eventually he let go of her and went for his sword, aura still pulsing.
Rini stumbled back. She saw he was armed now. She laid her hands against each other, sparks and flashes came from them. As she parted them a black sword of almost glass formed. Just as she got a good grip on it the angel was on top of her. She swung and blocked the best she could, but the angel was a lot faster, more agile because of his wings. He almost had her pinned to a tree, but she wouldn’t go down this way. With a loud yell she sent a wave of dark energy at him, making him fall. She gained her ground, standing strong.
The angel stood finally. His aura pulsed bigger with his anger. Rini let hers grow to make sure she was safe. As the aura’s hit each other, giant sparks flew everywhere. Rini stepped closer to the angel, as he did towards her. Suddenly there was a bright white flash from the merging energies. The angel stood down first, dropping to the ground to protect himself. Rini ducked behind a tree quickly. Between the two fighters a small whirlwind danced just over the ground.
Rini slowly came from behind the tree, watching the energy die down. They both met over the energy finally, as it died down, they both watched something form on the ground beneath it. Raylin bent over, lifting the object from the ground. It rolled over in his arms and Rini gasped. A little white fur ball lay there looking up at them.
Rini: What is it?
Raylin: I’m to know? It’s something from your hand of magic. Take the thing before it does anything.
Rini took it, slowly, wondering if he was right. It looked up at her, making this purr sound. She lifted the creature up in the air to get a better look. Small pointy, almost furry ears stuck from its amazingly long white hair. Its skin and eyes were the same white. Rini turned it around and found a nub of what looked to be a tail sticking out from its behind.
Rini: But it looks like you! How is this, my magic?
Raylin: I know it is not my creation. It may look like me, but it’s not mine.
Rini: Damned angel! To create life you need two magic forces. Face it, you made this thing with your little fit back there!
Raylin: Do with it as you wish. And, the next time we meet, I will finish what I started.
And with that, Rini was left standing there with a small creature in her arms. She cursed under her breath at the angel and wished his wings to fall off in bloody lumps. She went back to the house and went to her room. Slamming the door, she stalked to the old crib that Nate used to use. She laid the creature in it and stared at it.
Rini: That stupid angel. He meant to leave this here. If it must stay here, it will learn to fight and protect this castle from people like him.
There was a knock at the door. Rini looked up and called to who ever it was to come in. Nate walked into the room. He had returned from his outing with little Geni. Little wasn’t much the word anymore. She was as tall as Rini was now. Nate walked in and sat next to Rini on the floor. He looked into the crib and grinned so wide, it could’ve went clear off his face.
Nate: And what is this, now? Has my Lady been playing with her toys again?
Rini: No… This creature isn’t all mine. I finally met the person who has been following me. An angel. We fought, and this came out of it all.
Nate smiled and lifted the small creature from the crib. Rini just sighed, leaning up against the foot of her bed. Her mind wandered, wondering what the creature was. She had seen a lot of strange looking things in her kingdom, but nothing like this. She also realized that chances were, the angel wasn’t going to come back and take it away from her. So now the question was; what to do with her. Rini looked over to Nate, he had the baby on its back tickling it.
Rini: You know… We can’t keep calling it ‘little creature’ and such. We’re going to need a name for it.
Nate: Wait for the fuzz ball’s other half to show up again and ask him.
That must have been the best thing he had heard all day. He lay on the floor laughing over it. Rini just sat there watching him, slight annoyance on her face. Just asking that guy what to name it might set him off enough to start another fight. She laid her head back and put a pillow over it, growling under her breath.
Rini: Creature, I know you’re hiding out here. Save us both the trouble of me finding you the hard way.
