The Tangled Webs We Weave
Authors Note: First off, may I say that some of the characters in this story are not from me, but from my friends. The majority, however, are mine. The plot in this story was originally spawned on multiple Hogwarts RP boards, but since the plot was never finished and the boards were shut down, so I decided to write and finish the story myself, with a few massive tweaks. I do not get any money from this, only write for my own pleasure. So do not sue me, plz. Reviews would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, on with the story…

Just keep running. Don’t look back. You’ll be safe. Just keep running. Don’t look back. You’ll be safe. Just keep running. Don’t look back. You’ll be safe…
Regardless of the mantra echoing through her brain, the loudest sounds that were heard were that of her ragged breath and pounding heart struggling to keep up with her body as a girl sprinted desperately through lightened streets and zig-zagged across dark alleyways, keeping her trail all over the place. Not that it mattered much anyway. They were most likely locked onto her magical signature by now. Next person to find her would probably torture and/or kill her on spot.
No, not probably. Would.
If fear could have caused her to move any faster, she would have. However, the lactic acid building up in her calves were making them burn in exertion as it was, and she had to try and pace herself as well as she could until she could find somewhere safe. If she could find somewhere safe. If they didn’t get to her first.
Just keep running. Don’t look back. You’ll be safe. Just keep running. Don’t look back. You’ll be safe. Just keep running. Don’t look back. You’ll be safe…
“You know you can’t keep doing that forever, sweetheart,” a voice said, cutting through the shadows. The shock of it made the girl stumble a bit, eyes widening as her body hesitated for a moment in fear, her thoughts catching up to the rest of her. Almost as quickly as she had faltered, however, she had recovered, her body now going into auto-pilot. “Oh, come on now, Princess. You really don’t want to do this the hard way, now do you? You know you’ve never been able to hide from me…”
Christ, he was just toying with her. As usual. Which got her thinking: How many more were there with him? Was she running into a trap? Was it just him? Should she just keep going, or try to find another way out? If he confronted her, and it really came down to it, could she really kill him? Any of them? …Would any of them be able to do it to me? The anger from her own answer to that question made her hands curl into fists.
Turning into the next alleyway, she ran for a good twenty meters before cursing. Ahead was a chain link fence, protecting the private community inside its boundaries. Frowning, she realized that she no longer knew where she was. And that wasn’t a good thing. The only thing that stopped her from running the other way, was an all too familiar growling noise, that had come to her way too quickly for her liking. “Shit,” she muttered, turning around to confirm what she already knew. “Daigoro.” Alright. There was the dog. Where were the other two?
Keeping her eyes on the canine, the girl backed up slowly, widening the gap between them. If he decided to attack her, she’d definitely need some reaction time. Reaction. She needed some kind of escape. Escape… Escape how? Her mind frantically wracked itself for some kind of way out. It wasn’t until she heard the mocking chuckle that she knew there was none.
“I told you that you couldn’t hide from me.”
“I know,” she replied, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes. Not that it would be likely, but she prayed he would make this quick. “... But when has that ever stopped me from trying?”
She heard snort of disgust, and then heard him walking up behind her. Letting her body relax, she braced herself, expecting it when he grabbed her roughly by the hair and pulled her to him, before slamming her against a brick wall. “Well I doubt that this time will be that… enjoyable,” he purred into her ear, not even bothering to hide the malice in his tone in any way. “Oh well. Guess I can’t be surprised that you’d be a whore till the end.”
Yeah. Like she didn’t deserve that one. Opening her eyes to stare at his, the girl merely replied cheekily, “That’s funny, coming from a whore like yourself.” It was odd. Her fear was gone. Whether it had come from hope or despair or both, she didn’t know, but somehow knowing that he would be the one to force her hand comforted her. “Do it,” she said. “Shoot me. Kill me. Just…. Do it.” Closing her eyes, she stood there for what felt like an eternity as she listened as he cocked the gun, and then fired…
