Crow Tenshi

The C & K Chronicles are a series of oneshots that have little to do with each other except that they feature Chase and Konstatine. I hope you enjoy it please comment.

“My name is Chase. I moved here from America. Please treat me well.” As I said these final words the classroom exploded into murmurs. Apparently blonde hair and blue eyes are novel things in a classroom of only Japanese teens.
“That’s enough. Quiet down, you can ask Chase all your questions personally during break time.” Another explosion of sound, this time giggles from the girls.
“Now, as for your seat…the window seat next to Honda-san is empty. Why don’t you sit there?” A pudgy faced girl flustered who I assumed was Honda-san. I smiled politely but the truth was I didn’t really care.
My step-dad, decided to move back to the village he was raised in after my mom died. Despite being my step-father he really did act like my real father. That’s the reason I didn’t complain too much when he told me we were moving to Biratori-mura, which means Biratori-village.
He moved us here because he felt that his business tycoon lifestyle took away a lot of the time he could have spent with my mother. He didn’t want to make the same mistake with me. So now I live on a rice farm…in a place that is a village…
Apparently I had been staring off for too long because it was already break time and I was being swarmed by the other students. A barrage of questions was being thrown at me.
“Do you speak Japanese?”
“Uh, yes. I gave my introduction in Japanese.” A bunch of “oh”s, “ah”s, and “that’s right” were coming from around me.
“Can you eat Japanese food?”
“Where did you learn Japanese?”
“Your eyes are so pretty...can I touch your hair?”
And that was how the school day passed. I walked home with a group of kids who thought I was shy because I didn’t say much.
After I waved them off I went to my second storey bedroom, unrolled my futon and laid there. Utterly bewildered by the fact that I went to a school that was so small it included students from elementary on up. I could only think, “This is going to be hell.”
By the end of the week I decided I had had enough of my room. At school I politely turned down the kids’ offers to hang out over the weekend, telling them I had some “stuff to do” in order to get settled in but I would be up for next time.
Saturday morning I got up early, got dressed in some comfortable clothes and worn out shoes, ate breakfast with my now farmer-dad and took off to explore the area in which I now lived.
I headed for the misty valley between two huge mountains. The valley was a lush green from the surrounding deciduous trees. The mountains were a deep almost bluish green from the evergreens. The location I was about to enter was my regular view from my bedroom window.
At night a mist set in which covered the valley and usually lasted until mid-morning. Something about the mysterious area intrigued me.
It took me longer than expected to reach the edge of the valley. About two hours. When I got there I got a weird feeling, part anticipation and part panicked tension. The area I was standing in was a sort of “middle area”. I stood at the line where the forest turns into plains. I stood there several minutes debating on whether I should enter or not. I took one last look at the boring little village and took a giant step forward.
The ipod I had been listening to stopped just as I had crossed the tree line. Weird. I thought maybe I had run the battery out…The other weird thing was there the forest was too quiet. No birds chirping, no leaves rustling, nothing.
I explored for probably two hours, before I saw something soft and black lying on the ground. I squatted down and picked it up. It was a feather. A long black crow feather. Since finding a crow’s feather is pretty novel I started to scan the surrounding area in hopes of seeing the bird. No crow, but up ahead another feather.
I reached down and picked it up as well. Then I saw another and another. Each time I picked it up and looked for the next one. Then the trail stopped. I was a little bit relieved because what creature could lose that many feathers and not die. I was expecting to find the corpse of the bird at the end of the trail, probably because of fighting with another animal.
I looked up at the sky, or tried to, because the forest was so thick, and saw something strange. It was a man sitting in a tree looking up at the moon. The moon!? I guess the forest wasn’t that thick it was just that the sun had set. Had I really been there that long? It just felt like a couple of hours.
Who was this guy anyway and why was he just hanging out in the middle of the valley’s forest? Not knowing what kind of person he was I hid behind a tree so he couldn’t see me.
That’s when I noticed them. His wings. They had long black feathers…the same kind I had in my hand. I dropped them. I looked back up at the man…he looked so lonely. Like his heart was broken.
He was alluring though, only wearing jeans and wings. No shoes, no shirt, only jeans. His face made him seem kind his wings and lean muscle build made him look dangerous.
The winged man apparently noticed my presence. He started looking from tree to tree, obviously not knowing my exact location yet. That was my cue. I tore off running. Somehow I made it home without getting lost or caught. But the weird thing was, when I stepped out of the tree line, from my pocket I heard music…coming from my ipod which I thought was dead…
Another uneventful week went by before I decided to check out the valley again. And again, just like before my ipod shut off as soon as I stepped in the foliage. I stepped back out – music. Stepped back in-silence. Weird.
I explored for hours and didn’t find a single feather. I finally accepted the failure and went back home.
The following Monday I decided to ask the girl sitting next to me about it, “Excuse me, Honda-san?”
She blushed, “Yes?”
“I was wondering if something strange happens in that valley over there.” I pointed out the window to the eerie valley.
Some of the other students heard the question, and happy to have a reason to talk to me, they all gathered around me to tell me all the info they knew.
“I heard that some children went in there and never came out…”one girl said.
Next the class jock, “yeah I heard they were foreigners or something.”
“I think I know most of the story,” Honda-san blushed again. “My grandmother told me about it. She knew one of the kids.”
The jock said, “No she didn’t. Quit trying to impress Chase by making up things.”
I thought she was going to cry. So I chimed in for her, “I want to hear your grandma’s story.” I actually thought she may know more that anyone else because she barely ever spoke and when she did it always seemed useful and a vital component to the conversation.
“Really?” I knodded, then she began to speak again, “I heard that the people who got lost weren’t children but teenagers and they were foreign, at least the one my grandma knew was.” She took a breath “she said she had never heard of the girl who was supposed to have been with him. But not that she would have noticed with Hanzel around. She said that he was a good looking young man and that she paid attention to no one else when he was around.”
Honda-san looked me in the eyes and said, “if you’re planning on exploring the forest in the valley, don’t. Hanezel really did go in and never came back out.”
Before I had time to respond the jock cut in, “oh yeah? Well what about the bread crumb trail, the witch, and the gingerbread house?”
“Fiction.” Honda-san spoken up.
“All of it?” I chimed in.
“Most of it. I heard a version where it was a hideous monster that took Hanzel away not a witch. Also I heard the reason why he went so far into the forest was because he was following a trail of…”
I cut her off, “black feathers?”
“…Yeah, how did you know?”
“Lucky guess.”
“I doubt it, but don’t go in there anymore because you’ll never come out.”
That next morning I ditched school and headed into the valley. I just couldn’t take it. I had to find him. Today was hotter that before. The bugs and vegetation around me seemed to notice it too. The cicadas intensely screamed and the branches on nearby trees creaked and cracked with the weight of the heat.
I searched for the winged man until I became frustrated with him and myself. I don’t know what I was expecting to find. There couldn’t really be a winged man…but go damn it I KNEW there was one. It pissed me off so much I started to scream at everything and nothing.
“You jerk! You coward!” I looked around before saying, “What? Are you scared of me? Is that why you’re hiding?”
Next thing I know, I hear a swoosh, a flap, and a thud. I was on the ground and there were black feathers everywhere.
I had been knocked down by the man I had been searching for. I absent mindedly reached out to touch the soft feathers when the man flinched.
It was as if it was the first time I had seen his face. It was beautiful, and unblemished. No wrinkles just a tiny scar on his eyebrow. He had delicate features for a man, except for his angry piercing yes. They were almost as dark as his hair and wings.
With my mouth gapping wide open I heard him say, “What do you want?”
“I wanted to see you,” I whispered with my eyes roaming over his face. I wanted to see every inch of him.
The man was already on top of me, with one leg on either side of me. His face was close to mine with his elbows crooked on both sides of my head supporting his weight.
He got even closer, so close I could feel his breath on my face and he snarled, “I am not a freak.”
All I could manage was a faint, “I know” before I reached up with my hand and pulled his face close to mine and began to kiss him. I had never kissed a man before, to tell the truth I had never even thought about it. But that didn’t matter, call it love at first sight or whatever it is but I didn’t care about our gender I just wanted to…EXPERIENCE him however I could.
He started to pull back so I used my other hand to wrap my fingers in his hair and secure him. He stopped resisting for a second. I let my had that was in his hair slide down and caress his face. He began kissing me back then suddenly he pulled back. It was like he got lost in what he was doing then suddenly snapped back into the real world.
Next thing I knew, my face hurt and he was up and off of me. I tasted rust. It was blood. My blood, from my lip, where he hit me. I finally started to realize what happened and it hurt. Yeah, my lip hurt but more than that. I felt the deep and profound pain that is rejection.
I mumbled some sort of apology as I got up and dusted myself off. I couldn’t look at him. I was too embarrassed.
I started to walk off but I stopped and slowly turned to face him. “I won’t bother you anymore,” I locked onto his eyes, “thanks for giving me one last chance to see you.” I saw something flicker in his eyes. I couldn’t tell if it was loneliness, shame or regret but whatever emotion it was, it looked like it caused him pain. He looked very similar to when I saw him the first time, starring up at the moon.
I turned back around and started to walk off, slowly. I kept hoping that he would stop me, grab me, hell I’d even have taken another hit to the face so long as it was by his had. But it never came. And I walked home on autopilot, not really thinking about where I was going.
That night and every night after, I fell asleep while looking out the window, towards the mysterious valley.
One night I watched out the window for song long I feel asleep in my desk chair, still in my school uniform. I awoke when I heard a loud crash.
My windows were open, wind was blowing the curtains in, and a mist of rain hit my face. Lightning and thunder were crashing around. And there he was. The most angelic sight I had ever seen.
He grabbed me by the collar and raised me up out of my seat. His eyes were wild when he asked, “Why!?”
“Why, what?” I stuttered. It was so hard to speak when he was around.
“Why did you want to see me!? Why did you come back to the valley!?”
“I went there the first time because I was bored and wanted to do some exploring. I got more than I bargained for,” I averted my eyes, this was somehow so embarrassing, “I saw you in that tree and at first I only noticed your wings. Then when you turned I noticed this beautiful creatures…”
He cut me off and spat, “creature!?”
“Not like monster or anything,” he gave me a grave look which made me speak faster, “but creature because a human couldn’t be that beautiful.” I said the last words softly. “Beautiful and very, very sad.”
“Why did you come back?” His grip on my shirt lessened.
“I wanted to know your name…and I wanted to comfort you.” I felt stupid saying it but I didn’t want to lie.
He let me go and I slumped back in my chair.
“Konstatine.” I gave him a quizzical look, “My name. It’s Konstatine.”
“Konstatine,” I repeated, “I’m Chase.” I smiled.
Then I remembered the village’s legend. It must have shown on my face because he said, “What now? And cocked one eyebrow.
“The legend…” I trailed off.
“It’s true.” My eyes bugged and he gave a small, very attractive laugh. “Not the whole thing. There were never any children. Hanzel was 22 and he came willingly. I never asked him to come and I sure didn’t trick him…”
I loved him…and I thought he loved me. But I was wrong. He used “love” as a trick. He thought I was a monster and tried to kill me…”
He got really quiet.
“What happened?” I barely spoke.
“I killed him first.”
I couldn’t believe it. He had to kill the person he loved!
“I still loved him though. I didn’t want animals to eat him. So I buried him. And I have been alone ever since.” He averted his eyes away from me with those last few words.
I realized I was crying. Embarrassed, I quickly started rubbing at my face. Suddenly he was close to my face again, “Why are you crying? You’re just like him, like Hanzel. You think I’m a monster.”
I started to cry again. I wanted so badly to comfort him, any way I could. I stifled a pathetic giggle, “for being beautiful you really are stupid.”
He looked taken aback. I closed the small distance and began to kiss him. At first he didn’t kiss back, he was too stunned. The he slowly started to reciprocate, but he still seemed scared. I pushed him back with my own body. Chest to chest he started to find himself. He bit my lower lip, which got me all the more worked up but still hurt from my early blow to the face. I pushed him so hard that he was sitting on the very window seal he had came in through. I didn’t follow him at first. I just watched what the moons light could do to his bare chest. It was delightful and made him all the more tempting.
I must have embarrassed him because he let out a small, “what” as he looked up at me from under his long lashes.
It was too much for me. I rushed him. I climbed up on his lap. One leg on each side of him, my hands supporting myself on the window pane. As I started to kiss him again I began gently rocking my hips. I kept wondering the whole time if he was going to push me off, or hit me again. But he didn’t, instead he started to unbutton my shit.
He stumbled over each button until it frustrated him so much that he just ripped the rest of them open in one quick motion.
It was just getting hot when I heard a knock at my door then, “Chase! What’s going on up here?”
Konstatine and I hushed. We were completely still. I looked at him and giggled. He gave me a warning look and held up one finger to his mouth miming me to be silent.
“Chase! Do you hear me!? Is someone there!?” from behind the door.
I looked at Konstatine, “let’s go.”
“What!?” he said a little too loud and the banging at my door got louder too.
I shushed him before I said, “take me back to the valley. No one will bother us there.”
“But…” he started to protest before I cut him off.
“I won’t leave. And I won’t ever hurt you…” I started to smile, “that is…unless you want me to.”
His face flushed. But then his expression changed. He became determined and said, “You asked for it.”
He threw his arms around me and at first I thought we were falling. Wind was rushing around me. We were going so fast that the very wind was stinging my face. Then I heard snapping of branches around me. By the time I realized we were flying we were already on the ground.
“Did- Did we just fly.” I stuttered.
“Yes.”
“But”
“I do have wings.” I felt stupid. If I had ever been in control of the situation there was no evidence of it now.
“Oh.” Was all I could manage before I hit the ground with a thud and felt Konstatine kissing my hip bones.
Now things were going too fast. “whoa whoa.”
He cocked one eyebrow (god damn that was hot) “yes?”
“We’re in the valley?”
He nodded once and gave me a look that seemed to say “duh.”
“Any more questions?” he started to kiss me again before I stuttered, “my ipod, why doesn’t it work?”
He looked utterly annoyed. “You want to ask that now? Fine. Human technology doesn’t work here. It’s something I do to discourage people from entering the valley.”
“How do you do that.”
“Monster.” He pointed to his own face and drew the word out.
I narrowed my eyes at him, “I thought you didn’t want people to call you a monster.”
“Can’t fight what you are. But it still doesn’t mean I liked to be called it.”
That was it. I pushed him off me. He stood kneeling next to me. I got up and sat in the same manner. He looked at me like I was crazy. I pushed him again and he flopped on his back. His wings creating a black frame around him.
I climbed on him, “I’ll show you a monster.” His lips peeled back to show an incredibly mischievous smile.
I licked his bottom lip, then bit it. I bit it so hard he bled.
“What are you doing?”
“Payback.” I licked the blood. I pushed his head to the side and ran my tongue over the ridges on his ear. He let out a small moan.
“You like that…” I whispered.
“Mmhm.”
I kissed his neck then licked and sucked my way down his chest. When I got low enough I ran my tongue across his pant line. This time the moan I heard was louder.
I unbuttoned his pants and slid my hand into pull out his perfect and very erect cock. He leaned up to watch the show. I made eye contact while putting his whole cock in my mouth. When I pulled my mouth back up I slightly bit the head. Not hard but just enough for him to moan and flop back in the grass.
I moved my mouth up and down over the length of his penis while using one hand to stroke the base and the other to cup his balls.
His breathing got heavy and I heard “stop” in barely a whisper.
I took my mouth off of his dick to say, “why?” I was utterly confused. I thought he was enjoying it.
“I don’t want to cum this way. I want to cum with you inside of me.”
I sat up and said, “but I don’t have any lube.”
“It’s okay.” He got up and then pulled me up to my feet. He slid his hand down my pants and while working my dick with one hand (which was already hard) he unbuttoned my pants with the other. Then used both hands to pull them all the way off. I stood while eh was kneeling in front of me.
My body shuddered with anticipation as I pumped air in and out of my lungs. He slowly started licking my balls. I moaned. He kissed the base of my penis then ran his lips and tongue up my shaft. He lipped my cock and put it all in his mouth. He slowly took hi mouth off of it. The condition he has left it in was the slimmest, most wet thing I had ever seen. He was right. We didn’t need lube.
He bent over at the nearby tree and presented his ass to me. I ran my hands down his back and then over his ass. I spread his ass then gently put my cock in.
Instantly he moaned. It was so hot I started to rock back and forth, I kept one hand on his hip guiding his movements. Then slid the other one to his cock and began to jerk.
He almost instant began to cum. I pulled my hand back and licked what was left of the cum off my hand.
I heard him breathless say, “Are you going to cum for me?”
“Yeah, I’ll cum for you.” I started pushing and pulling his hips at a faster pace.
Soon I felt it – I was about to cum. I pulled out and with one last moan I came all over his back. It was hot and wet. He turned around and licked the one last drop of cum that was still left at the tip of my cock.
It was too hot for me. I fell to the grass and laid there heaving. Konstatine laid down next to me, also breathless and said, “Yep. You’re right. You’re the monster.”
