Realm of Silence
Refrain of Silence
The Tacey Colony
The stifling silence that filled the ship was so heavy that to any living creature it would have felt as if their breath was being sucked from them. That they would lose their very soul in the noiseless void. The walls did nothing to alleviate the feeling of nothingness, the stainless steal barely being illuminated by the flickering lights that were housed in the colourless ceiling. The doors barely stood out, in fact they blended in more than anyone could realize, even the seal between the doors and the wall were barely creases. Even if one was able to tell what was hidden behind the doors it would be impossible for one to enter their confines as they didn’t even have hands to destroy the smooth surface of the walls. Only the endless expanse of hallway, ending in a sudden darkness would meet any one’s eyes and the robot was no different.
The robot was an anomaly inside of the dreary surroundings, its small frame painted a stunning orange. Red lights flickered near the top of it’s circular frame, blinking, blinking, blinking as they sent out a video feed of its surroundings. A strange beep, a blep-blep, echoed through out from where the robot drifted, moving forward at a stead pace.
Blep. Belp. The robot paused as it came to what it identified as the first door way, spinning on its center to look at the seamless wall, before turning again, a slight swish in its movement, and heading down the hall way, repeating the action as it came it each seamless space.
Blep. Blep. The noiseless space would have been deafening before but know the beeping would drive any person listening into insanity.
Blep. Blep. The robot drifted down the halls, its sensors not picking up signs of movement. No signs of life.
Blep. Blep. A sudden flare in the readings, a warmth that shouldn’t be there, so sudden that it went unnoticed by the mechanical device.
Blep.Blep.
A sudden silence, no beeping for nearly a minute, then the noise resumed, speeding up in its tempo.
Blep. Blep. Blep. Panicked, and yet that was something the simple robot was unable to feel. The faster tempo would normally be attributed to a major change in readings and yet nothing flickered to life on its screen.
Blep.
A final beep before falling into silence.
An orange sphere hit the ground. A moment later no splash of colour illuminated the hall. The only thing that marred the hall of its previous state was a single stainless steel sphere angled out of the wall next to the fourth door in on the right.
The hall returned to its silent state, promising destruction to the world of sound, it’s lights flickering even more violently than before, spastically casting the wing into darkness for minutes before returning to the shadow filled state that existed when the lights were on.
Silence rang through the air.
AN- Since I'm not really separating this into chapters I'm going to upload each segment when I fell it COULD be considered a chapter.
