Stirring the wrong way
Prologue
Prologue
Dario was working hard at the shop but he was worried. Evra had said after hiring him
that he would never be gone longer than an hour at the most if he was shopping for
ingredients. But now it had been more than four hours since he left work. “Where are you
boss?” he thought and slumped down on the counter. The income of customers was slowing
down and he felt like going out and looking for Evra before he saw Shinsuke make his way
to the front of the shop. “Is that?” he said to himself as he squinted a little trying to
identify the limp form in Shinsuke’s arms. “OH CRAP!!!” he shouted and stormed from behind
the counter and ran to Shinsuke.
Shinsuke saw the boy and his energy finally left him. “Finally I can rest.” He said
this falling to his knees, and Dario kneeled in front of him.
“What happened to my boss?” Dario asked and looked at Shinsuke.
Shinsuke didn’t move, the only thing he said was “…call a hospital…please.” Dario did
as Shinsuke said and called the nearest hospital.
An ambulance came and both Evra and Shinsuke were taken to the intensive care unit. Evra
was under surveillance because of the amount of drugs in his system, and Shinsuke was on
the receiving end of IV fluids, and treatments for both his exhaustion and his cold.
“At least they put us in the same room.” Shinsuke thought and looked over at Evra.
“Please wake up soon.”

It had been a couple of years since the incident with Kiefer. Evra had learned that
not all people were trustworthy and Shinsuke had become distant.
“Shin…” Evra whispered as he lay facing his sleeping lover. It was probably the only
time Evra could speak to him these days without getting the cold shoulder. “…d-do you
hate me?” he could feel his eyes begin to burn with hot tears as he looked at Shinsuke’s
angelic face.
Shinsuke sighed and rolled over to face away from Evra, as if unconsciously answering him.
Evra burst into tears and rolled out of bed.
What Evra didn’t know was that Shinsuke was awake and contemplating the day ahead. “I know he likes cherry blossoms…but those are out of season.” He mulled.
This would be one day off that Evra would never forget.
