The Beginning of it all
Madison was a small town. The type of small town where everybody knew everybody, well almost of everybody, there is always a few exceptions. All the houses looked the same, large green back yards with many trees in each yard. The people of Madison were just like everyone else in town. They were boring, thought mostly about money, but most of all they were hypocrites and stereotypes. They didn’t like anyone that was different from them, especially a little girl that wasn’t like them; a little girl named Meg. Meg always thought she was special. That’s what she saw through her own eyes, but to everyone else she was a freak. After years of being treated liked a freak, you start to believe it yourself.
Meg had dark red hair and emerald colored eyes while other girls had blond or brown hair with either blue or brown eyes. When you look at her from afar she would look like any other normal girl, but she wasn’t like any other girl. When you got up close to her you could see all the pain she was harboring inside of herself, all the pain that she didn’t allow out. Since she was a child she only knew what it felt to be abandoned. Her mother had died while in childbirth, and then her father raised her. On her eighth birthday she was taken away from the only home she knew because her father died. They never told her how he died, but she knew it was from a broken heart and self-destruction.
Since Meg was a little girl, she dreamed of a world that she could call her own. A world that the people loved her, it was a world like no other world. She dreamt about a king and a queen that were madly in love with each other and everyone loved them. She loved to dream that she was the daughter of the queen there and that everyone loved her and that her own lord would sweep her away from her life one day. After her father had died, she forgot about that world. She didn’t remember her adventures there and couldn’t remember her lord. The land became oblivious to everything else. After her father’s death she’s moved from town to town, from family to family. No body seemed to want a little girl that was broken inside. No body wanted that little red haired and emerald green eyed girl that used to constantly dream about her own world.
She finally ended up with the one family that seemed to try to make it work, right there in Madison. They seemed to be a good family, but she didn’t trust them, even a seemingly perfect crystal glass has its flaws. Meg stays to herself when she is “home” and at the school they send her to.
One of Meg's favorite books was Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. It was her favorite because her father would read it to her when she was younger. She wore a plain dark blue dress. It was like the one Alice wears but the apron was either dark red or a dark blue. The dress came down to her knees and wore a pair of stripped thigh-highs underneath. They were solid dark red with dark purple and black strips. She also wore a pair of black boots that had metal buckles on the side of them. The mother of the family would try to get her to wear other things but Meg would end up donating it to Goodwill.
She locked herself in her dark green bedroom everyday after she came back from highschool. Meg was now 16 years old and stayed away from the other students at school. She had only one friend. His name was Brock. He had dirty blond hair and crystal blue eyes. He was the most popular boy in her school and was the captain of the football team. He was one year older than her and was part of the family that she was currently staying with. She would only talk with only him. The parents thought she was mute until they heard her talking to Brock one late night. Brock was a very handsome man and was kind hearted. He would always help Meg out with her problems.
All the girls at school liked him and wanted him to notice them but he always stayed with Meg. They were always together and because they were, Meg started to have feeling for him as well. She felt like it was wrong. They weren’t related because she hadn’t been adopted into the family. She felt it wrong just because she didn’t think she deserved someone and because she was afraid that if she did like him, she would have to leave. Meg didn’t want to leave because she felt welcomed in that family. She knew she couldn’t tell anyone her feeling and if she did, she didn’t think Brock felt the same way and would abandon her like everyone else has in her life. But the thing was that Meg didn’t know that this was the start of a new adventure in her world.
A/N: If you spot any complications please let me know. This is a large work in progress.
