Escape from a Rose Tinted
World
A lonely butterfly flies from
the meadow
And I feel my spirit soaring
with it
The sky paints violet pyre
I ran hard through the
dandelions
Laughing on a one way street
No signs for a non existent destination
Why am I running?
I slow my pace and gaze
through rose tinted glass
Cracks form and I am forced
to toss it to a golden wind
My legs stop working
My eyes finally open
The butterfly rests on a
dried leaf
I want to touch it, but I won’t
Nature should never be
touched by the hand of man
It flies away
And I am glad
Another free spirit never to
be trapped to conformity
I wish to fly away with it
I want to fly
To stretch my dusty wings
towards the moon lit sky and soar
Feathers float softly to the
ground
My feet no longer mar the
earth
All I had to do was wish it
It appears
And I grasped it
A lonely sky I greet as I
touch the moon
The chains disappear
It only takes a moment
The feeling is worth
infinitely more
