A Night of Bitter Coldstyle='font-size:16.0pt'>
In the night
In the dark
The moon shines down
To the stark
Contrast of brown
Leaves dried there
On the sidewalk pavement
In soft angel’s hair
Of gold amusement
Cold gray
Breathes the wind
And they
Slowly walk down the road
The cold
Bites sharply
As I have been told
The leaves roll past
Hurried to no destination
In the abyss vast
As is their creation
I wish to follow
In their wake
Sings the swallow
For the green’s sake
Will never join again
The sun sleeps tight
In the blanketed clouds high
The stars begin their fight
And the trees sigh
Wind shakes
The moon now gone
Branches break
But is heard by name
In this night of winter cold
In this evening of winter
bright
