Another Journey
As I board the train I am welcomed by the all too familiar gloom
The ridiculous film strip lights doing little to disguise the fading décor
My rucksack placed beside me makes an ideal partner
Never wanting to ‘just squeeze past’, allowing me my room to breathe
Hit and miss, the Newport trip, usually more miss than hit in all honesty
This journey is falling far too short as yet
But my light at the end of the tunnel is waiting for me
With a smile so fair as to melt my heart
A justification to my cramped up time
On the train to see my valentine
