Long Day
“Long day?” asked Seto.
“Long morning. I was in meeting after meeting this morning dealing with family business; daddy’s out of town. I spent the first 4 hours this morning on the phone with the attorneys for the Kyoto Mafia. Apparently, their leader was murdered last night and my father is the prime suspect. Only that isn’t possible considering that my father is in Canada touring the local bistros and sipping coffee. Plus, if he knows that I would be forced to arrest him if he had killed anyone. After I got all that sorted out I received a call from Tokyo.”
“And?” he inquired.
“I’m needed at home.”
“What does that mean?” She sighed and walked over to his desk, sitting on the corner in front of him.
“It means that I need to become my father’s daughter again.”
“Huh?” now he was confused.
“My father is the Tokyo Godfather and I am the heir to his legacy.” Sighs.
“My family is notorious for owning and keeping slaves. I have several of my own but one in particular is the reason I am going home. He was kidnapped and in the last 24 hours was he located and rescued. The call I received this morning was from my family doctor. He said that my slave had been raped,” she punched the wall. Seto didn’t say anything except, “Go, let me know how things turned out.” Smiling, she kissed his forehead and left.
*IN TOKYO*
She rushed into the house and up to her room. Bursting into the door she found him, her beloved slave, asleep on the bed. Quietly she crept to the bed and set her bag down near the foot. Her heart broke at the sight of him. His face was black and blue. Bruises covered every inch of visible skin. His lips were swollen and they had small cuts all over. She spoke to him softly, “Dantez?” One eye fluttered open and then both. He yawned and looked up. A smile appeared as he saw his Master.
“Master? Is that you?” his voice was weak and scratchy. She sat on the edge and soothed his hair.
“It’s me. Oh sweetie…” She could see the tears beginning to form in his eyes. Dantez knew what her next question was going to be. She was going to want to know what happened and he felt ashamed.
“Baby, I need you to tell me what happened to you. Please.” He couldn’t hide the truth from her, he had to tell her.
“I don’t know who it was. He came up from behind and grabbed me. I tried to scream but he covered my mouth. I don’t know where he took me. I was blindfolded.” Dantez stopped his story; worry was evident in his eyes.
“It’s okay now. He can’t hurt you anymore. Please continue.”
“He dragged me into the woods and hit me in the head. I blacked out. When I woke up I was tied to a bed. He was standing over me. I couldn’t see his face, he was wearing a mask. I screamed at him to let me go. He slapped me. I asked him why he took me and he slapped me again. He never said a single word. He took out a knife and cut off my clothes and spread my legs apart. I began to cry and he only slapped me harder. I didn’t want him to do it but he undid his pants and held down my hips to keep me from squirming. He, he shoved himself into me. It hurt really badly. I could feel my blood running down my thighs. I shut my eyes to block him out and prayed that it would end soon. He’d hit me and punch me while raping me,” Dantez sobbed and was clutching his Master.
“When he was finished he untied me and threw me outside. It was raining and muddy. I lied there crying and bleeding. Then I heard people yelling my name. I recognized the voices. They were your servants. Maria found me and then I blacked out again. When I woke up I was in bed and the doctor was here cleaning my wounds. I cried out for you and he said that you had been called.”
“Do you remember anything about him? A smell, a sound?”
“I don’t remember, Master.” Master, Dantez hadn’t ended sentences with that word in months. He was afraid. Silently she prayed that he wouldn’t revert back to how he was when she first bought him. She searched him, his voice, and his eyes, anything looking to see if he was lying to her. He was not. He really could not remember anything. “What’s important now is that you’re safe. I’m here now. Tomorrow I’m going back to Domino and I’m taking you with me. From now on, you will always be with me.” She smiled. He had wanted for a long time to be with her at all times but it wasn’t safe.
“Truly? I’m going to be with you all the time. I thought it wasn’t safe.”
“You’re safer with me no matter where we are. I’m living with a friend named Seto Kaiba. I work for him, with him, doing this and that. He has a little brother named Mokuba. He will be thrilled to have someone to play with.” Dantez, even though he was still weak from his ordeal, was very happy to be leaving with his friend.
“I’m tired. Can I go back to sleep now?” he settled back into the bed and rolled on his right side, facing her.
“Sleep well my love. Tomorrow we leave. Goodnight.” She got up off the bed and sat near her window keeping watch. She remembered that she promised Seto a phone call. Taking out her cell she dialed the number for kaiba Corp.
“Thank you for calling Kaiba Corp. How may I help you?”
“This is Lady Toguro. Mr. Kaiba is expecting my call.”
“I will connect you. Please hold.” She buzzed Seto. “What is it?” he roared.
“Lady Toguro is on the phone for you sir. She said you were expecting her call.” Furious that his work had interrupted, he was waiting for her call. “Put her through.”
“Hey Seto…” she was quiet, not knowing what to say exactly.
“What’s wrong? How is he?”
“When I arrived the doctor was just leaving. He informed me that Dantez had severe bruising all over his body. I went to our room and he was asleep on the bed. I spoke to him and he looked at me….” By now she was in tears, mad and upset over what happened.
“I asked him what had happened and he explained that he was attacked from behind and taken to an unknown place where this bastard had his way with him. He was left out in the rain until one of my servants found him. I should have been here sooner. Maybe he would still be okay.” She was sobbing over the phone. Seto tried to calm her. “All that matters is that you are with him. He will be okay. What will happen to him now?”
“I’m coming home tomorrow and I’m bringing him with me. He will be staying with me from now on. I told him about you and about Mokuba. He seemed happy to have someone to play with while I am away.” Her tears subsided and her breathing returned to normal.
“I guess I will see you 2 tomorrow. Have a safe trip.” Seto hung up and went back to work.
*BACK IN DOMINO*
“Welcome to Domino Dantez.” They stepped off the private plane that Kaiba had sent. They took a limo to Kaiba Corp and headed up to see Seto. She walked right in to his office. The secretary never said a word to her or the young boy at her side. Without looking up from his computer he addressed her, “welcome back.” She told Dantez to sit on a couch and she walked up to the desk.
“Thank you for the plane and the limo. It was very nice. I had to stop by and let you know I, uh, we were home. I’m taking him home. We will see you tonight after work.” She kissed his forehead as she had done before and left with Dantez. They left Kaiba Corp. and got into the limo waiting outside. From there they headed to Dantez’ new home: Kaiba mansion.
