Just Another Practice
Left, right left again, the thoughts hammered into his head like his fists to
the opponent as they struck. Duck low, come up hard, another solid
connection. His arms felt like banded steel, tight as cords and just as ready
to snap out, anything caught in its way facing massive force. Dodge right
strike out low with your leg, keep your good one in reserve he thought,
just in case. The sweat on his forehead gathering and beginning to run,
stinging his eyes yet he knows to never falter, keeping his gaze no matter
the distraction. Spin kick, dangerous, flashy - bad idea but a strong attack
always has risk, his legs tense as he lands ready to spring forward or back
but no. The timer stops, time to back up. The punching bag settles back in
place, he walks away, just another practice.
