Bonded for Life: The Vampire Chronicles

Prologue: Damien and Kiren are two born vamps that have grown up together. Damien is 17, Kiren 16. They have known that they are mates for over a year now, ever since Kiren turned 15. At this time they are looking for their 3rd. Their Nani.

Chapter 1

“Alright Damien, what do we know so far? Our Nani turned 15 about 3 months ago and she lives somewhere in the city.” Kiren was lounging on their bed looking appreciatively at his Sena. Damien was tall, easily 6’2”, his lean frame honed by his night time hunting. His black hair hung down shading his hazel eyes.

“I only know what I can sense so far. There is so much pain. Her soul is shattering and if we don’t find her soon, she will take her own life!” Kiren watched as his Dom became even more agitated. He rose gracefully from the bed.

“Damien, I swear we will find her!” He gently reached up to touch his mates face. Damien reached out to pull the smaller man roughly to him and they met in a passionate kiss. Kiren moaned in submission as Damien broke away. Damien looked fondly at his Diam. He absolutely loved his auburn haired mate. The slightly smaller teen stood at 5’11” and had gorgeous deep brown eyes. He forced himself to step away.

“Let’s go. Tonight we find our Nani!” Damien growled.

The pair was an awesome sight as they strode down the street. The aura of power surrounding them causing all in their path to shy away unconsciously.

They paused in their journey. “Well, this is the only sector of the city we haven’t searched yet.” Damien turned pained eyes to his mate. “I feel her Kiren! She’s dying and I can’t help her! We have to hurry!” With that he took off running, instinct pulling him towards his Nani, the cherished third of their triad. Kiren stayed close on his heels.

They ran like men possessed, following Damien’s instinct to protect his mate. Up one street, a right, down a little farther. They found themselves in a quiet middle class neighborhood.

“Which house Damien? Even I can feel her now!” Damien glanced over to his Diam and saw the nauseous pained look. His fine features pale with worry. He reached to take Kiren’s hand. “Be strong my Diam, we will be whole soon.”

They walked slower down the street feeling each house as they passed. “Here” Damien breathed. They could both feel the pain radiating off this house. As they drew closer, their fangs grew and eyes changed to swirls of red.
Damien reached out and knocked on the door. “Yeah, Yeah, I’m coming! Hold your horses!” The door was suddenly yanked open by a seemingly middle aged well groomed man. “I suppose you’re here for the bitch. That’ll be $50 each for an hour. You can do what you like, just don’t kill her.”

The teens stood stunned for a moment, before Damien reacted. He grabbed the man by the throat and growled showing his fangs. “Where is my Nani, you human scum!”

“I-I don’t know any Nani, there’s just Angelica, upstairs!” Damien slammed the man against the wall knocking him out cold. He stepped over the body slumped on the ground and motioned for his Diam to join him. Kiren stepped in and closed the door behind them. He quietly followed Damien up the stairs.

They came to the third door and knew they had found her. Damien reached out and turned the knob, his heart in his throat. He pulled the door open slowly, afraid of what he was going to see. The stench of blood, pain, semen and utter desolation about knocked the two vampires to their knees.

“No!....Damien….” Kiren whimpered. He moved slowly into the dark room feeling for the light switch since it seemed his Dom was almost catatonic with rage and shock. He understood how hard it would be for Damien to find his Nani in what was certain to be a bad condition. When his hand finally found the switch he was truly horrified by what he saw.

The room was almost bare except for a small bed on the far wall. And tied to that bed by a chain around her wrist was a small waif like girl who looked no more than 13 years old. She was naked and covered with bruises, welts and cuts. When the light flashed on she dropped the knife she had been holding to her wrist and drew herself as far into the corner as she could get.

“No, please, no more!” she cried. Kiren snapped himself out of his stupor first and cautiously approached the girl and removed his long coat.

“Nani, shhh. Hush little one I won’t hurt you. Please, here” He gently reached toward her, drawing his coat around her thin shoulders. The girl flinched violently before snatching the coat closer to her. Kiren gently reached toward her, softly touching her hair, “Nani-sa taka ne sulenta” The ancient spell used to calm an injured or ill mate instantly put the girl to sleep.

Kiren inspected the chain attaching his mate to the bed. The lock looked fairly solid. “Damien, Sena, I need your help!” Damien slowly focused on his bonded. “She is bound to the bed frame and I don’t want to hurt her.” Damien drew himself out of his shock and approached his mates. He gently caressed the girl’s face. Warmth spread through him like fire and the beginning of the bond settled. “Hold her hand steady for me” he whispered. Kiren nodded and gently cradled her small hand in his. Damien grasped the lock and squeezed. He poured every bit of his rage and despair into the offending piece of metal and it crumbled. Damien reached down and picked up his Nani her frail body too light. Even in her spelled sleep, she struggled feebly. “Nani, shhh, you are safe.” She turned more fully toward him, clutching his shirt and fell deeply asleep.

“My Sena, we must get her home. Your mother will be able to heal her. But we must hurry!” Damien nodded. He watched Kiren disappear in a swirl of shadow and followed suit.
