The trial
The trial.
Johnny Ross, the son of Jhonen Ross, was charged with a line of serious crimes, including abduction, rape and murder. Approximately in this order and definitely more than once.
Johnny was calm. He knew nothing can happen to him. His daddy takes care of him, he always does.
The prosecutor was nervous, he was running out of witnesses. Literally.
They were simply disappearing along with their families. Not a single clue was left. Maybe except one.
When the Johnsons disappeared, a single bloody stain was found.
The Biffills were guarded by the police. Their daughter Judy, a important witness, was at the time guarded by 4 detectives. In one moment, one short instance when none of the detectives was looking, she screamed. When they looked at the spot she sat, she was gone. Seconds after this, they heard a series of short screams from other family members. They all vanished, including the dog.
All depended now on Annie White.
She came, before the court. She gave the oath. She started her testimony.
Small drops of blood fell on the prosecutors face, just as he asking the witness.
The hall was in shock, as Annie White, the main witness, fell dead to the floor.
"Its him" a man shouted after a moment of silence. He was pointing on a short skinny man sitting in the crowd.
The short man, without hesitating for a moment stood up and started running away. Or at least he tried to run, since it was defiantly not easy to run between all thous chairs.
People tried to stop him, just to be violently tossed away. The man displayed for his size enormous straight and he managed to fight his way too the door. The guards tried to block it.
The Assassin rammed the door at full speed, breaking it open and sending the guard to the ground.
"Don't loose him!" screamed the detective. She, the other undercover policemen and the guards that were left uninjured started to chase after him.
"Don't loose sight of him, at any cause!"
She started to understand what they are dealing with.
The sudden disappearances of witnesses without any indication of a fight, the disappearing of a witness in a closed room full of policemen and now this.
She was sure, Old Ross hired a really heavy hitter.
If they would loose sight of him, they wouldn't he able to get him ever again.
The assassin was running as fast as he could. Maneuvering his way trough the hallways of the court building. No mater how he tried, he wasn't able to loose his followers. His last hope was to get out of the building, and get lost in the crowds.
He ran fast. Finally. He saw the door. Once he is out, no-one will be able to get him.
The door broke open.
A Swat team ran in.
"Damn"
The assassin was surrounded. He quickly changed his direction and ran to another corridor. At its end...
...there was a window.
"Get him!" screamed the detective "we need him alive"
The little man could literary feel the freedom before him. He ran. One leap and he would be free. He ran fast. He jumped. His forehead broke the window. He could feel the cold breeze of victory in his face.
He crashed at full speed against the iron bars.
"D'oh"
He fell down to the floor, whining in pain.
The police proceeded to arrest him. But he was resisting.
It was a hard struggle. The assassin showed remarkable straight and determination. A nightstick repeatedly hit his skull.
The last hit was so strong, that it ripped a piece of his skin off. As they later saw, it wasn't his skin.
At the place were the synthetic white skin was ripped-off, they could see the real, green, skin.
"I knew it"
No normal human could done all thous things. This was no ordinary assassin. Old Ross hired a demon.
Detective Yun heard lots of stuff about demons before. How they were moving from their natural habitats, to live in the cities with the mortals. How they are offering their skills to thous who pay the most. But she never thought she would see one with her own eyes.
The demon charged the policemen with unspeakable furry. He bit the half-of-the-face of one of the policemen. Two guards tried to get him down, but he sent them flying wit a powerful hit.
He charged furiously against the Swat team. One swat-team member avoided his attack. The demon tripped over his leg.
He fell to the ground.
Several army boots started kicking him furiously. It seemed like a entire hour to him. When they stopped, he was almost nothing more than a bloody pile.
They putted handcuffs on his arms.
They threw him inside a armored van.
6 swat-team members were guarding him trough the whole transportation. Their guns aimed at him the whole time. They should bring him alive, but that does not mean they can't cripple him.
He was calm. Calm in that really really creepy way. Black sticky blood kept drooping on the ground and all that could be heard was the silent breathing of the passengers. The van was moving trough the streets. The news spread.
The van finally stopped in front of the police station.
The suspect slowly exited the car, together with his silent delegation.
Slow steps lead towards the building.
The demon took a deep breath. His right arm detached it self from his shoulder. He swung his right arm with full speed towards one of his guards. The prosthetic arm hit him in the face. He fell to the ground. The demon turned around and started running for his live. The police after him. But this time, they were not able to get him. They lost him after a few minutes in the streets of the big city.
