To Be Or... What The Hell?
To Be Or… What The Hell?
We all know Shakespeare’s famous play Hamlet & the famous like that goes, “To be of not to be. That is the question.” Well this story won’t make it anywhere near that line.
One morning, three days before they begin their roles in the play Hamlet, three friends were sitting outside their school practicing their lines. Jason, Kenji, & Toya Freeman were cast as three important roles & they really needed to practice. Actually, only Jason & Kenji needed to, Toya had almost memorized all his lines. He’s been cramming lines into his head for the past four weeks. But he just can’t seem to memorize all of it.
As they enter class, Toya looks down & sees black works that say “Death” & “Wanted” on the ground. He knew they weren’t marked on the ground so he picked them up. They weren’t cut outs from any paper, they were kinda hard like from metal. He thought nothing of them & threw them back to the ground.
In class, Toya was paying attention to his teacher but his mind was elsewhere. He wondered how he couldn’t memorize every line like he hoped he would. All of the other plays & study groups he’s been in have all gone great. Complete memorization. But now all of a sudden, he’s hit a road block. As he halts his mind wondering, he catches a sneeze but covers his mouth & nose. He removes he hand & his eyes widen. Instead of snot like normal, there are tiny black words in his hand. He sneezes again & more words come out. He starts to panic then runs out of the classroom. The teacher stops him but Toya runs around him almost falling over.
As he runs through the hallway, he not only sneezes, but he starts throwing up words. During his strange behavior, he starts loosing memory of all he has memorized from not just Hamlet, but all of his intense studies sessions. Then he realizes that what he has been strangely releasing is everything he’s learned. He falls to the floor screaming & attempts to stuff every last word inside his mouth. Doors begin to fly open in the halls & heads pour out to see what’s going on in the halls. Toya stops his hearty feast & runs away, but he runs back to the pile of words & attempts to pick the up. His shirt can’t hold too many but he tries anyway. After he takes what he can, he runs to the basketball courts & trips over what he thought was a tree branch. He looks behind him as he gets up & lets out the loudest scream in the world. What he sees is the famous line from his upcoming play Hamlet,
