It’s funny how you get fixated on things, like how wet the ground is, or how fast the cold seeps into your body and makes it harder and harder to breathe.
Two hundred pounds have somehow dropped on my chest, making each breath harder still. Shit. How did things get like this?
Wait, wait. How’s that? I’m getting confused. The street lights are dancing above me, making my head spin and my stomach lurch, threatening to return all the contents within to the outside. I’m so freaking nauseous.
Stars are lights.
I can’t breathe. Oh, God…I can’t…It’s too damn cold, man. I get it now. The street lights aren’t dancing. I’m just shaking my head. That’s right. The ground is still hard as hell. Crazy, absolutely crazy how sticky it is.
I promised I was going to change.
“Please God…let me change.”
