Mysterious Savior
Faer took another drink of the green liquid in his glass and looked around the booming rave. Loud bass pulsed over the dancing masses. Black lights flashed setting the fog from smoke machines aglow. Men and women bounced and grinded to the techno rock music.
'So ignorant.' Faer thought to himself. He brushed a lock of his blood red hair from his face and pulled a blood stained cigarette from a black case in his pants pocket. 'If only they knew.' As he touched the cigarette to his lips, a black flame flared to life on the tip igniting it. A red smoke seeped from his nose and mouth.
Out of the corner of his eye, Faer saw her. Her dirty blond hair flew around her as she flowed with the music. Her red silk tank top and matching leather mini skirt accented the pale white skin covering her beautiful body. She was the Vampire he was looking for.
Carnal desires flashed threw his head as he looked over her intoxicating form. Faer push them from his mind and rose to his feet, sliding the bar stool back in place as he did. He downed the rest of his drink and began to make his way through the crowd. As he neared her, Faer dropped his cigarette. It burst into the same black flame and burned away before hitting the ground.
"Kaori." Kaori looked up at Faer. He stood a good three feet taller than her. Stunned by Faer's massive size, she stopped dancing. "You need to come with me." Faer said as he took her by an elbow. He pulled her through the crowds of people. Kaori attempted to pull her arm free and was again shocked by his strength.
"Who the hell are you?" She demanded. 'He isn't a Lycan. I would have been able to smell him a mile away. And he isn't a Vampire. He is too alive. To hot.' Kaori thought to herself as she took in the stranger towing her out of the rave. She could feel the heat flowing from his muscular body. But he wasn't sweating. "Are you going to answer me?"
"My name isn't important at the moment. Your safety is."
"What are you talking about?" She was screaming now. "Why am I not safe?"
"I'll explain later." Faer replied as he pushed through the front doors.
"Explain now!" Kaori tried unsuccessfully to free herself again.
"Where is your car?"
"I'm not telling you a damn thing until I get some answers."
"Look you spoiled little vampiric bitch! I'm trying to save your life! So tell me where your fuck..." Faer suddenly came to a halt. His orange eyes darted back and forth into the blackness of the night. Kaori stared at him, wondering what he was searching for. "They're here."
"Who's here?" Before she could finish, the scent hit her. Creaking metal noises came from the roof behind them. Three pairs of glowing yellow eyes peered from atop the rave building. Snarls and low growls echoed over the parking lot. "Lycans." Kaori said as she turned to face the beasts. Her now glowing green eyes locked with those of the Lycans.
Faer wrapped an arm around Kaori's petite waist and lifted her off her feet. Cradling her against his chest, he dashed out of the parking lot. Minutes later, the two were on the outskirts of Baton Rouge. Faer gently sat Kaori down and looked back in the direction they had come from. His eyes flared a dim orange as he turned.
"What's going on?" Kaori asked a little dizzy. She steadied herself. 'Damn, he's fast.'
"Time for you to go." He replied looking over his shoulder at her. The orange glow from his eyes deepened. "Go home." Kaori decided to stop asking questions and listen. She began to run. Her vampiric speed was nothing compared to him, but she still seemed like a blur to the average human. In the distance, she heard pain filled howls. She paused to look back. Fires burned in the distance and the smell of burnt flesh floated through the air.
"Who was that guy? What was that guy?" A demonic roar echoed to her. Kaori shivered. Not from the cold fall air. Vampires are always cold. Hearing the roar again she resumed running.
