Description and Characters

A/N: Okay, so this is the one act that a friend and I wrote for our school's Alpha Psi Omega playwriting contest. This is meant as a spoof on the show American Idol, just using an unknown musical theater audition. Yes, there are stereotypes, but it's all in good hearted fun. If you like it, leave a review. If you don't, then leave a review (but please no flames). We wrote this with members of our APO cast in mind, so if it seems to fit you, either sorry (if you don't like it) or great (if you do). :) So here we go with the show! Enjoy!

Characters
• Tom – Choreographer – young, nice guy, easy to please – tries to keep Grant from making everyone cry
• Grant – Director – young-ish guy, kind of an ass – enjoys making auditioners cry – formerly a drill sergeant
• Chloe – Pianist/Music Director – a bit jaded, always has some kind of comment to make about the auditioners
• Gia – Stage Manager – does whatever Grant tells her to – lacks any type of backbone – thoroughly terrified of Grant
• Georgiana – 19, female, fairly good singer – singing “Goodnight My Someone” from The Music Man
• Katherine – 23, female, awful singer – singing “Memory” from Cats
• Patrick – 22, male, extremely nasal singer – singing “The Music of the Night” from The Phantom of the Opera || is also the security guard for the theater
• Armani – 16, female, horrible singer – singing “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” from Evita – annoys the heck out of Grant
• Edmund – 20, male, total diva despite being a horrible singer – singing “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables – insists on being called Giovanni
• Ella – 20, female, exceptionally good singer – singing “Memory” from Cats
• Cassie – 24, female, okay singer but powerful – singing “Gimme, Gimme” from Thoroughly Modern Millie
• Lacey – 23, female, can’t sing – attempts to beat-box and is promptly thrown out
• Olivia – 21, female, another diva that can’t sing – singing “Popular” from Wicked
