Memory
Memory....
I pause
A forgotten memory
Some things wish to hide, darting round in my mind's shadowed bends
Quiet and silent as a hawk-watched rabbit
Others cry for acknowledgement
Loud and impetuous like a newborn cub
Which one is this?
I decide to look
To see what this shadow hides
That is what we must do
Even if it pains
Even if it breaks the heart
After all, if a memory is made, it shouldn't be shunted
Pushed to the side by its brighter cousins
Peeking in
Feeling Pandora's anxiety
I grasp and drag into the light
This dusty memory
And I smile
While my eyes water with invisible tears
For this little forgotten thing is you
p.s. I wrote this such a long long time ago!
