At The Shadows End...

“SHIT!” I screamed that damn nightmare kept repeating itself, I sat up in my bed glancing towards the clock 4:00 A.M. every time I was awakened at this time. I sighed and removed the blanket from myself and stepped onto the cold cement floor. Pulling on a pair of old jeans from the day before and a sweatshirt and walked into the bathroom to grab my keys trying to avoid the mirror. I new what I would see the person the guy everyone counted on the guy who hid behind his smiles and good looks the guy I didn’t want to be. Various things ran through my mind but none that bothered me.Quickly grabbing my keys I jogged to the door and left on my walk. The walk was normal so I though and it was before I reached the Ryldin Bridge, I never walk past the bride but today something brought me here and I saw what it was or who he was. The street light illuminated on him bathing him in an eerie glow. I narrowed my eyes to get a better look and I finally could make out his features. He looked familiar like a had seen him before I thought back and it came to me Shadow Duermen a Sr. like me at my High School he was a outcast , also he was the person who had captured my heart a year ago.

“Class please settle down…um class SHUT UP!!!” we all finally sat down in our seats giving very little attention to Miss.Sulvinstein “well then we have new student please give a warm welcome to Shadow” I looked away from my friends and looked towards the doorway my heart literally skipped a beat. The most beautiful boy in the world was here. “Shadow please takes a seat next to Salem, Salem raise you hand”. As he walked towards the seat next to me my eyes never left him he walked with such poise and beauty like he was angel.

His hair swayed among the wind he’s gaze stayed below the bridge like he was waiting for something I slowly began walking towards him afraid I might spook him but what he was about to do spooked me. One hand at a time he pulled himself up onto the bridges ledge and stood then staring at the water below. He was going to jump I quickly ran towards him hoping I would get their in time to catch him it all happened in slow motion he closed his eyes and leaned forward I extended my arms praying I would feel him fall into them. Weight finally reached my arms and I quickly wrapped around Shadow’s waist and pulling him back. “STOP LET ME GO!” angered screams reached my ears as I set him down in front of me. He glared at me with hatred filled eyes. I stared at him going over his features Beautiful ocean blue eyes pale skin and jet black hair and flowed gentle to the middle of his neck. He was small about I foot or 2 shorter than myself I smiled at him hoping he would do the same but he didn’t. “Why are you smiling?” Shadow said in the smallest voice. “No reason you just look so adorable when your worked up that’s all”. A blush extended across his face “I…I…Im Shadow” he stuttered “Salem” I replied back. We began talking as if the incident of him trying to jump had never happened and I guess he liked it that way. But I still wanted to know why so I asked “Shadow why did you try to well… jump?” Sadness filled his eyes. I hardly knew Shadow but, seeing that made my heart tear in two “Im sorry you don’t have to answer me it’s not my business”. He looked away glancing back towards the bridges edge “I tried to jump because im alone I have no purpose, nobody cares if was alive …or. Dead”
