Red Walk Inn
RED WALK INN
Ivy decided to go to a bar which was named “Red Walk Inn.” The monsters, mortals, demons, devils, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, imps and witches all practically lived there because they loved it! You name the creature, it had its very own section in the bar. It was really well known mainly though for the mind reading bar tender named Mishkof. Every section in the bar had about fifteen tables each table was able to fit five creatures. The bar was adjustable too! All the witches were allowed to get out their wands and adjust the bar as they saw fit. The reason they called it the red walk inn was simple really. The floor was black and yellow but when ever you walked on in you’d see your own red foot prints.
Ivy entered the bar as the bartender noticed her and instantly nodded getting her a caffeinated soda. She was beautiful really. Black straight hair, deep brown eyes, was five-seven and one- hundred and forty-five pounds, and she was twenty-four years old. She had her hair up in a pony tail, and glasses she would wear on occasion. She was there waiting for someone, however she wouldn’t know till later-on that she’d be stood up that night and on an adventure she‘ll always remember for her entire life. The bartender was the only one who seemed to realize this guy she adored was going to be a no show.
After waiting for over an hour she used her wand as a tracing device only to get a hologram of her crush. “Hello, this is Adrian, Please wait, I’ll be in contact soon” his hologram always said it as if it was a cell phones answering machine. She fiddled with her wand and tried to think up spells to practice as she was starting to think nothing good would come of this night.
Two hours later a man walked through the door. His name was Vale Carmon and he was one of the less noticed yet most gorgeous guys in all of the village. He sometimes was noticed when he had a girl on his arm, but it was rare that he was even acknowledged. He had beautiful brown/hazel eyes and brown hair. He stood at six-one and had to be around one-hundred and ninety-five pounds and he was almost twenty-four. He walked in so confident that it made Ivy shiver. Ivy did not know why she shivered over a guy she barely ever noticed. The Bartender saw him and Nodded then handed Vale an Irish whisky.
Vale started talking to Mishkof and they talked a good twenty minutes before the bartender looked at Vale and asked him to take Ivy a refill for her drink. Mishkof and Vale were really good friends so Vale agreed to do it for him! “Ma’am, here’s your refill.” said Vale in a nice tone. They talked for hours just talking about life and school. Who they wished they had for spouses and how Ivy got stood up and didn‘t feel to happy about it. Vale decided he’d be Ivy’s date just for tonight. He didn’t realize he’d also be apart of this adventure, that they’d fall in love, and that he’d have to battle for that love along with for human and creature kind altogether.
Ivy and vale sat there talking for six hours before the bar closed. “Its closing time guys, you all have to get going now” Said Mishkof in his nicest voice in all their minds. “Last call.” He smiled at Vale and gave him two more drinks. Finally Vale and Ivy left at one- thirty am. They saw a lot of things while walking. They saw a ghost inside some lady’s attic that looked extremely lonely. The family was asleep already. They saw a lamp post that flickered on/off and continued walking on the gray cobble stone. They also saw a lonely vampire who was in feeding position. They wanted to interfere but everyone knows you never screw with feeding time when it comes to vampires!
Finally they got to a lake that had a full moon. It was amazing they laid a blanket down that they got by a flick of their wands. Vale was also Celtic blood as was Ivy. They went to the same witches training academy. He got up after laying down next to her and brought out his hand as if to say dance with me. She replied out loud with “How can we dance, there’s no music.” He gave her a weird look and said ”So, why don’t you use your wand and give us something to slow dance to then?” She stared at him a bit while whispering something in an ancient language and waving her wand slightly. All a sudden Vale and Ivy were floating nine feet off the ground slow dancing in each others arms. She stared at him a minute while floating not being able to believe the night they had both had and how she had just been conned into sweeping a guy off his feet!!
It was three am by the time they started to walk back to Ivy’s house. They walked very slowly to take it all and while still walking they talked to each other.. They finally got to Ivy’s house by four am and she didn’t want to be alone, nor was she tired enough yet to go to sleep. She invited Vale inside. He looked at her like he wondered if it was such a good idea, after all they hadn’t known each other that long. She opened the door up to her three bedroom home.
All a sudden Vale heard an intense little growl followed by him landing flat on his ass in the yard. Luckily the side walk and some grass broke his fall! He also heard “No Angel No! Sit, Stay, Stop This!! Angel Stop!” He realized Angel was Ivy’s dog who at the time had to be at least three months old and was certainly a Lab of at least thirty pounds. She was Fully Black and had the most beautiful brown eyes you could ever see in your life!
Vale got up slowly while rubbing his head from the bump it took from the pounce. He didn’t realize just how small she was until taking a second look at her. He watched Ivy as she played with the now famous Labrador retriever Angel Rose and while she said her Hellos. All a sudden he realized just how much Angel meant to Ivy and he saw her in a whole new way then before. He saw her as a more caring, lovable and responsible person. In a couple seconds one event had changed vales whole image of Ivy and his view on what she was all about.
They sat down in her kitchen on stools that surrounded an island table. The floor tiles were a gross tan color but the tables and the counters were an excellent shade of forest green. Ivy looked at vale and said “I’ll be right back. I promise, just have to go clean up.” She left going into the bathroom. She changed her clothes, and let out a sigh of relief as she let down her beautiful black hair. She removed her geeky glasses to put in contacts and put on a little make up.
She instantly walked in the kitchen, but she saw no vale! She went into the living room and yet still no vale. It seemed as if he had disappeared. Then she went into the kitchen again only to hear his voice a tiny bit. “what, you’ve never heard of a vanishing spell?” She jumped being startled. She looked and saw nothing.. Then she blinked only to see not only him and Angel but also what any girl would call a four star meal! “Its pasta, with cheese and broccoli in it!!” He stated the obvious. Turned out Vale was a damn good cook. (that alone made Ivy drool.) There were beautiful candles on the table as it was set for two. She then realized that he had put an invisible spell on her so she wouldn’t see or even smell dinner. He wanted to see her smile, his wish was her pleasure to grant that night.
They finally finished dinner which Ivy and Vale were both tried so it suited them both just fine that they had to go to bed. Ivy set the orange couch up for vale for the nigh, and they stayed up a while more watching movies. They both fell asleep on Ivy’s couch next to each other while talking briefly. The couch was next to a glass table which was Twenty feet from a fire place that Ivy had in her living room. Her living room was a smooth violet color that for some reason looked great with Ivy’s orange couch.
Angel started to whine and lick Ivy’s face at nine am. Ivy looked briefly at angel and said. “Okay, okay I’m up. I can let you out in the yard now.” Angel loved the yard, it was like a giant meadow when Ivy did a certain spell to enlarge the small yard she had. She was always able to find Angel with a flick of her wand. The wand was black and had a beautiful Garnet in it as its stone. Every witch in Ivy’s village had a wand that was a little different in some way. Some were black, others were wood. Some had stones, others didn’t. It all depended on the witch!
After Angel was back in the yard everything returned to normal always. In fact any non witch person who thought they saw it would have lost their mind and they were put in the insane asylum. Ivy had an Olympic sized pool in her back yard in which Angel would swim and play with her tennis ball! The afternoon came faster then most for Ivy and Angel now that they had company. “Catch the tennis ball Angel” Vale said as he threw it into the pool in the ninety degree heat. Angel looked so ecstatic as she started running and jumping into the pool. The way angel’s body posture was made the moment so beautiful to the point of Vale wanting to make Ivy go get a camera! So what did vale do? He got out his wand, pointed, and chanted a couple words that froze time over. He went into Ivy’s house and only unfroze her and said “where is your camera?” Ivy looked at him in a question mode and finally asked.. “why?” He explained it to her to which she replied “left cabinet, 3rd shelf.” He took a couple pictures in a couple different angles. He took a picture as he unfroze time and Angel landed in the blue watered, newly cleaned pool.
Ivy and Vale realized by the time they had left the pool that it was only six pm. Finally at eleven o clock Ivy and Vale were both having fun talking and drinking their yummy drinks. When all a sudden a man who appeared to be around thirty-nine years old came walking into the bar. He had a beautiful fire breathing dragon who was a pale red and loved to look at people weird and make faces partly. The dragon instantly caught the attention of Vale who had always wanted his own dragon. He adored them and even studied dragons in the academy. The dragon was on a bright red leash. Anyone who studied dragons knew that this one could only be a year old. Vale knew this only because his professor Mr. Plumkin said that dragons of any nature always had a ring around their tale for every age they turned. The dragon had one ring only. It had yellow eyes with black slants in the middle like it was half cat or some thing. Vale watched this dragon most the night . The man sat down holding tight onto the leash of his dragon. He ordered a Gin Tonic all night long it was one Gin Tonic after another. Every one knew this man as Alexander heebus the meanest soul in the village who had a temper and normally got kicked out of bars after his seventh Gin Tonic. Vale couldn’t believe that the meanest man actually had exactly what Vale has wanted for two decades. He had already been thrown out of Three bars tonight.
Finally in walked a hobbit who had green skin and a torn brown shirt. You could tell this Hobbit had been in a fight or two already tonight. His shorts were also partly torn. He seemed to not be in the best mood at all. The negative energy seemed to be coming off of him in waves hitting everyone in sight. The sight of the man with the dragon seemed to be setting him off tonight in a not best for everyone else kind of way.
Alex didn’t even see the hobbit till ten minutes after he entered in which he was just as mad. He looked at the hobbit and raised his voice a bit in a whispered anger. “Did you follow me here Hobbit?” Said the man. The Hobbit seemed to try for the Ignore the pest approach but the man wasn’t having it. The man clearly stated “Answer me hobbit, or I’ll have your head for my wall.” The hobbit again ignored the man which seemed to make the man even more angry then he had been.
All a sudden the Hobbit gave the man a dirty look while saying “you mortal ingrate…I dare you To try and kill me to stuff me on some wall..” Everyone realizing that dare was about to happen. Alex never passed up a dare in his whole life and everyone knew he wasn’t going to change for anyone. The Bartender Shook his head and everyone knew he was in his mind telling Alex not to. Mishkof watched with an intense look upon his face that night. “Oh, I’ll more then take you up on that dare.” Said Alex. You could tell that Mishkof wanted to throw Alex out, however he didn’t.
All a sudden the man put his wand up to the Hobbits throat. “In fact, just watch me as I take out every organ you possess in that green freak of a body you claim as a host.” Said Alex again. Alex put his wand even closer to the Hobbits throat as he said it so as to threaten the Hobbit and scare him a lot more. Alex whispered in the Hobbits ear “say good-bye.. Come on you creature who doesn’t even deserve to be named, say Good-bye!” Alex kept egging him on. Alex finally looked like he was uninterested now with his prey. He started to leave then turned around as if he was just saying good-bye now himself. He quickly drew out his wand and pointed while chanting something in an ancient language. Vale and Ivy watched from under their table and listened to see if it might be a chant they knew from the academy. It didn’t seem to be a new one that’s for sure. The Hobbit locked eyes with Alex and said nothing. Alex was even more Angry he expected a reaction in which he didn’t get.
Next thing anyone knew Alex raised his wand again only to reveal blue light at the tip. The Hobbit then realized Alex wasn’t kidding about mounting his head on a wall. The Hobbit dodged the blue light that was coming toward him. The Hobbit though had secrets of his own. He was half blood witch himself and held a wand. He very rarely ever used it though. He stuck to his famous daggers! These daggers had saved his life more then once in situations worse then this. He took 3 daggers out from his right boot, and 3 more that were under the sole of his shoe.
The Hobbit took three of the daggers and threw them but alas Alex saw those three coming and ducked. Alex looked around for other weapons and finally the Hobbit caught up to him after Alex’s wand was destroyed from the dagger getting it. In reality that was mainly the Hobbits plan, separate Alex from his wand to save his own life. The Hobbit saw Alex looking around and then finally put a dagger to Alex’s throat and said. “Say Good-Bye Alex.” For once the Hobbit had the upper hand in this battle. Alex looked and said. “I still have a couple things up my sleeve….CORPUS!!!” Alex shouted. No one knew what Corpus meant till they saw the red dragon turn bigger and start spewing out fire from its lips. Corpus was his dragons name. In times of danger or fear the dragon could become up to twenty feet tall if he wants. Corpus tried to step on the Hobbit but was not successful.. Finally Vale jumped in and managed to calm down Corpus by giving him some pasta that he cooked up by a little magic. Who knew Pasta would be a great food for a dragon? Vale did after all those years of studding. Dragons. In fact, Vale aced that class since it was a big interest of his. He was obsessed with the dragon society!
While they had all been distracted with Corpus Alex managed to get his wand back and fix it with a magic trick he knew from third grade. Alex threw more balls of light at the Hobbit. The Hobbit again dodged as much as he could. This one hit his ear though and cut it in half as if it was lasered off in a slanted kind of way. The Hobbit looked at him in minor pain kind of way.
With the endorphins running still though enough where he really didn’t feel it he ran across the room and threw his last three daggers after kissing them for luck. He tripped over something as he threw them though leaving him defenseless as he had broken his leg over tripping over what looked like half of a chair. He looked over and saw that Alex was still alive and the Hobbit thought he was doomed. The Hobbit looked around thinking to himself “Is this it, this is how the fates decided I’d die…What total complete bull shit!” The bartender was in so much shock that all Mishkof could do was sit stunned watching this horrible thing that was happening in his bar.
All a sudden a little flying sprite came over to the Hobbit and suggested to him he might want to remember that one last dagger he had, plus not to forget he also had a wand on him. The Hobbit was in shock because the sprites never came out of the woods, however since he had once saved them from total damned nation they needed to repay their debt. Alex sent another thing of light toward the Hobbit. The sprites knew this one would kill the Hobbit so they all surrounded him in their white light and were severely injured to keep him safe. The Hobbit got up as they also helped heal his broken leg. He pointed his dagger at Alex and threw knowing he knew very few spells that could help him, this really was basically his only hope. The dagger went threw one side of Alex and threw the other side of him. It was the left side of his heart that the Hobbit nailed. Many would debate wither or not Alex had a heart to begin with though. He was a cruel mean un-sympathetic soul. They all saw Alex fall to the ground and heard a thump.
Ivy and Vale both looked shaken up by this battle. Mishkof called the police and let them deal with it, he made everyone stay in the bar till the police could interview everyone. By the time the police got to Ivy and Vale it was like one am there. The police took their statements as Vale and Ivy noticed that right after it all happened the Hobbit sat on a stool and started drinking heavily. They reported to the police though that he had not been drinking when the fight occurred, and that Alex had started it when the Hobbit had been peaceful. The police took the Hobbit in for questioning but let him go a couple hours later claiming it was self-defense. The Hobbit before he left got a Vodka.
Ivy and Vale were both in major shock still when they left around two am. “Wow, won’t that be the talk of the magic council for a couple months?!” Said Ivy in an excited yet panicked voice. She was secretly scared, but so was Vale now. What did this mean that Alex, a witch, was dead by a Hobbit? Would this become a war? Would some witches or hobbit revolt against each other? If so, who’d be on who’s side creature wise.. Would Ivy and Vale have to join the war? Who’s side would win? So many questions and no one with answers except for the gypsies who could tell the future.
They got back to Ivy’s house and Angel Pounced on Ivy. Ivy had zapped Angel back to the house as soon as the fight was starting because she didn’t want Angel hurt by anything. She wished she had thought of doing that with herself and Vale, yet it was so exciting and yet scary that she couldn’t help it. It was a new experience for her and for vale too. Vale had to leave Corpus there at the bar for the council police to take Corpus to Alex’s wife. They felt sorry for Louise no wife should ever have to lose her husband in an un necessary battle. He was so foolish not to even care for her enough to stop his temper, now he was dead and his wife and Corpus were there to suffer together.
Last time Angel went to the Vet’s office she was 23.3 pounds. Ivy was in mid flashback when she realized that this morning was the morning she had to visit the Vet’s again. She got ready for her 10am appointment and thought she was free and clear, she watched Vale sleep a minute as she realized she’d have to leave him behind.
He looked up at her with those beautiful brownish hazel eyes and said “leaving so soon are we? What’s the occasion?” She tried not to look down into those eyes she adored so much and simply replied. ” I didn’t want to wake you, you were just so cute sleeping.” she stated honestly. Then again he would be cute sleeping or awake. She was after a couple days already in love with him more then that what‘s his name who stood her up at the bar. She was still a little miffed at Adrian for putting her in harms way to meet him in a public bar where everyone knew her and her past.
“Well, what are we waiting for? Where are we going?” said Vale. “We are going to the Vet’s office to see what has changed in Angel.” she stated so bluntly.
Ivy decided to go to a bar which was named “Red Walk Inn.” The monsters, mortals, demons, devils, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, imps and witches all practically lived there because they loved it!
