One Little Girl

One Little Girl
Written by Butterfly Beauty

One little girl sits in a chair staring out a window at a sky.
She stares at how the wind blows leaves and carries birds so high.
The sky is blue and the clouds are white. Why? she wondered.

A little girl sits quitely in a chair. She sits patiently as if waiting.
Never speaking simply gazing at the world outside,
keeping her hands folded over her lap. Her breathing slow,
making as little movement as possible, while sitting.
Wearing a pale sky blue dress and matching socks.

Alone, she sat in a small room that was completely white.
A bed in the corner with white sheets had a small white bear upon it.
Its head laying on the soft pillow, reflecting the light of day as it came from the window.

Why was she here? The girl wondered. Where was she? what was that odd creature? With bright eyes that never closed. So soft to feel when held. Did the small one have a name? Did she?

What is my name? Her thoughts cotinued. Still she remainded quite and unmoved.
The day slipped by becoming dark. The clouds replaced by stars and the sun with the moon.

Thinking what could those shining dots be? Why is it dark?
Where did the bright circle go to? Yet still she did nothing, still she spoke not.

Who or what was she waiting for?

When will I see them? She asked at last when the last hour of that day arrived,
to no one in particular. She closed her eyes, allowed her head to fall limp.
Her hands undid themselves slowly until they hung at the sides of her body.
Her breathing slowed down and stopped altogether.
She appeared to have fallen asleep and she had one where she would never awaken from.
