The Art of a Perfect Life
I never really thought anything of my life. I suppose you never do while you’re still living it.
Maybe subconsciously, the only reason I ever left that journal in the middle of my bed, opened to that specific page, was so somebody like Jennifer could find it. I didn’t really learn much in my short time on Earth, but I did learn that the choices you make now will only come back to kick you in the ass later on.
At one point in my years as a teenager, people had actually said I had the ideal life. I had a beautiful girlfriend, who meant so much to me I didn’t even want to think about ruining her life with sex. I had a best friend, who I knew would go to the end of the earth for me, he did actually. I had perfect grades that spawned from years and years of never leaving the house, never getting invited to parties, never having somebody there to keep me sane. It seemed perfect to the outsider, didn’t it? I don’t want to sound so pessimistic, honest, I don’t. It’s just, when a 17-year-old boy, who apparently has a perfect life, and a perfect reputation, kills himself one day, and people don’t know why he did it, you know that there was a problem.
